Hi Temple Researchers, Today I received a marriage license from Carbondale, Jackson County Illinois for Miss Carrie May Temple, age 20, to Mr. William Henry Fraley. Date of the marriage was July 16, 1890. Marriage License states that Carrie Temple parents are Eli Temple and Mary Esselton. Witnesses to the marriage were David Temple and Susan Temple. Unbelievably, there is another Carrie Temple, approximately same age in Illinois at that time, this one on the marriage license is not mine. A Thomas Temple transported May 23, 1637 to Annapolis, MD. Child of (Thomas?) Temple is: + 2 i. Thomas2 Temple, died May 1710. 2. Thomas2 Temple ((Thomas?)1) died May 1710. He married Eleanor Lorreson April 17, 1699 in St. George's Parish, Baltimore, MD. Children of Thomas Temple and Eleanor Lorreson are: 3 i. Eleanor3 Temple. 4 ii. Johanna Temple. 5 iii. Susanna Temple, born August 21, 1699 in Near Rumley Creek., MD. She married Henry Munday November 25, 1725 in St. George's Parish, Baltimore, MD. Sources: 1. Hello List, In researching my family I (some while ago) discovered my gg grandfather William John Leftwich/k marrying (Nov.11, 1844, near Harrison, in Hamiliton Co. TN) an Elizabeth Temples. Elizabeth was b. Oct. 4, 1826 in TN Her father, mother and siblings are listed in the 1850 Census TN, Hamiliton Co. as follows: Daniel Temple, 46 b. TN Margaret (unknown), 31 b. TN John, 21 William, 16 Charles, 12 Harland, 11 Martin, 9 Tennessee,7 Susan, 5 Thomas, 2 All the children are b. in TN I looked further and found a Daniel Temple in the 1840 TN Census, Knox Co. 2 males under 5 1 male 5/10 1 male 30/40 1 female under 5 2 females 10/15 1 female 20/30 I found a Daniel Temple in the 1830 TN Census, Blount Co. 1 male under 5 2 males 20/30 2 females under 5 1 female 20/30 Then in the 1820 TN Census this is what I found.... I am trying to make connections to a difficult Temples line in South Carolina. My family lived in the Batesburg area of Edgefield County, SC. from about 1800 to present. We have traced our family back to a William C. Temple/s( 1790+- to 1840+-) who was killed in the Florida Indian Wars. His son, Seabron is my connection. Seaborn Temples, b. 1820-21 Wife: Rebecca Ann Rogers 14 childrens( I have their name for those interested) One son was John Calvin, b. 6/29/1859 Wife: Florance Johnegan they had five sons One son was my grand father Charlie Webster, b.1892-1963 My father was Robert Julian Temples, b. 1/1/1919-7/7/92 I am Robert M. Hi all, I have received several messages pertaining to the �Temples in the Census� and want to answer some of your questions by this form letter. 1. I have been collecting census indexes of Temples for about three years now and those after 1860 are very limited. From the index of each census year 1790 to 1920, I look up the record and copy it into my Excel files. From the 1850 census file you can see that some of the columns have been filled in and others have not. (most have not) My goal is to fill in all of the information on all of the folks in each of the 12 files. Big project!! Thats why I am overjoyed to hear that some of you want to help. One thing I have done is a complete listing of Michigan, 1830 to 1920. 2. It sounds like some of you received my file perfectly while others received jumbled files. Let me know what spreadsheet you have access to and I will try to send a converted file. 3. I am sending each of you who showed interest a blank form which can be filled out and returned to me in form of an attachment. On page two I have explained what each column means. All I will need to do is to copy what you have provided and paste it into my master files provided the format is not changed. Please tell me what state and year you want and I will send the index or the completed information if I have it. I can also send a form by regular mail if you prefer. 4. Column B which is labeled art# refers to Albert R. Temple�s �Rise of the Temples� reference number. This column is for my use in trying to identify the individual. I will change it to ref# in the future. 5. The purpose of this project is to try to identify each individual. I want to eventually make all 12 of the files available to anyone who is interested. 6. If there are additional people that need to be added to any particular file I will just add them to the end and then sort. 7. Some of the census reports are not very clear. I hate doing PA. The best thing to do here is put a �?� after each entry that you are unsure of. I hope this answers some of your questions. Ralph
