Dear Nancy; I am Robert M. Temples from the Seattle, Washington State area. My father's family has lived in the Batesburg, Edgefield County, SC area since about 1810. We have several William Temple-s recorded and a William Albert Temples. We also show a Tillerman Temples in the 1900 census born 10/?/1882 in Germanaville, Saluda,SC. His father is a William Temples 1847. We have been researching the Temples/Temple line for several years now. Working on my SC line for the most part. I've found several cousins that are descentants of Seaborn Temples 1820-1906. His father was, we believe was a William C. Temples who died in the Florida Indian Wars. Any way, I think you and I have a real possiblity of relating, we just have to connect the facts. If we do, I have a lot of Cousins to introduce you to!!!!!! Sincerely; Robert M. Sir; I am related to Temple/Temples in Saluda South Carolina. My Grandfather was George Tillman Temple. I know his father was William A. Temple. Please if anyone has any information on the Temples in South Carolina of Saluda. Please advise. Sincerely Nancy Spires
I received this letter from a Temple researcher, thinking that because my Temples were in Puyallup at the same time as hers, we might be related. However, I can find no connection between hers and mine. Do any of these people look familiar? My Temples: I am a descendant of Henry Clay Temple and Elizabeth Connelly who emigrated to Washington Territory in 1862. He is the son of Louis Fields Temple and Malinda Kenady, born in Agency Co. IA. There were other brothers who also went to WA Territory: William, Judson, James Albert (and maybe one more who slips my mind, as I do not have my papers with me - George ?) We no longer have contact with any of their descendants. Please let me know if this matches any of your research. Thank you, Laurel Wanrow, I can either forward any information or send you her snail mail address. Thanks for any help you can give her. Joyce Hagerty
Hello All: Been busy lately, and not too productive on the home page. You will note that I have updated it - but it still has the bug that Parson Technology claims they will fix. Bear with us. I found the following references to TEMPLE folk in the Civil War. I was hoping someone might be able to place them in families for me. Anyone have more data on these? Moses J. W. Temple enlisted 14 Aug 1862 in Co. G, 6th Inf Regt of MD. Died at the Battle of the Wilderness, 5 May 1864. May have had a brother, Albin N., who was in the same company. (p. 240) Franklin and Amos H. in Co. C, 7th Inf Regt from MD. (p. 285) George Temple, enlisted 29 Jun 1863, mustered out 31 Jan 1864. Co. E, 2nd Regt of MD Cavalry. (p. 756) I have the citation for the book - one that's been sitting in my library for over 30 years. Strange what you find in your own house. Please let me know if you can help place these people. And thanks in advance. Park -- L. Parker Temple Researching the branches of the TEMPLE family See my home page at http://www.erols.com/lptemple/house.htm

I received this message from a Temple Researcher who is only on line through his daughter. Do any of you have any help for him? Thanks, Carole M. Casterline Loos From: WillN722@aol.com[SMTP:WillN722@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, June 21, 1998 8:49 PM To: gcloos@sota-oh.com Subject: Temple Genealogy Attn: Carol Loos My name is Galen C. Temple. James Beal of Sedgwick, Kansas gave me your name and E Mail address. He told me that you are searching for Temple Family genealogy. I am not on the internet, but am sending this on my daughter's computer. I am a 2nd great grandson of William and Lydia "Biddy" Temple, who came to the U.S. from Ireland in 1819. They brought a young son with them named Michael Temple. A daughter, Margaret A. Temple was born in New York City on December 18, 1819. My guess is that they landed in New York City. They settled East of Cambridge, Ohio in or around Quaker City. William and Lydia's 5th child, James Temple, was born December 5, 1827. He is my great grand father and he married Mary Jane Taylor on October 21, 1851 in Guernsey County, Ohio. They settled on property that is now under water in Salt Fork State Park, East of Cambridge, Ohio. They were the parents of 10 children: 1. William Taylor Temple born October 6, 1852. He married Melinda Wilkins and their children were Maude, Frank, James, Harry or Dick, Ray and May. He had four children in his second marriage and I do not know their names. He died in Holly, Colorado. 2. Ella S. Temple born about 1854. She married Eli Tedrick Lake and they lived in Cambridge. 3. Clarissa Ann Temple born September 30,1856. She married James Beal and they moved to Sedgwick, Kansas. 4. Resin Temple born about 1858. He died as a teenager. 5. John Franklin Temple born March 9, 1861. He married Julia Blinn in Kansas. Their son, Floyd Temple was killed in a train accident as a teenager. They adopted a daughter, Maxine Temple. 6. Martha Temple born about 1863 and died as a child. 7. James "Carr" Temple born September 3, 1865. He never married and lived in Ohio. 8. Alice M. Temple born September 27, 1867. She married Louis A. Temple in 1900. They later moved to San Antonio, Texas from Cambridge, Ohio. 9.Charles Grier Temple born March 12, 1870. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Pallister. They lived on the family farm East of Cambridge. They had one son, James Temple, who lives in Florida. 10. George Price Temple born February 22, 1872. He married Mary Ann Howe in Kansas. They had three sons, Charles, Galen and Price Temple. Price was my father. If any of these individuals are the same Temple of your research, please contact me. I hope that you have some information for me? Galen C. Hello Temples! I found the following TEMPLE names listed in the index to the multi-volume book "The War of the Rebellion" Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies. After the first name, the Roman numeral refers to the Series number, and the second number is the Volume number within that series. Then you have to consult the index at the back of that volume to find the page number that mentions TEMPLE. The entire series is available at the Denver Public Library, if anyone is interested in a particular name and can't find the series of books, let me know and I can check it. I have been searching for months for an Abigail TEMPLE, who married Stephen ROLPH, probably around 1770 in MA. (might be Mendon, MA). Any clues gratefully accepted! Ozzi oz@peganet.com
Howdy Park; I have found a possible Temples SC researcher, named, Gloria Hahrs is from Lacey's Spring, AL. Her e-mail address is amyk@bmtc.mindspring.com . Have you ever her from her before? I e-mailed her this morning and if I hear from her I'll pass it on. Bob Temples
Hello Bob and Park, Could you give us more details about this Civil War List? I have two Temples who fought in the Civil War, both out of Missouri for the Union. One was James S. Temple, who fought with Missouri 32nd Infantry, Company B. The other is his brother John Thomas Temple. I do not know what unit he fought with. I have information from John T. Temple's obituary which says that he and his brother both fought for the Union but that they fought in different units. Thanks for any help you all can provide in helping me figure this out. Hello fellow researchers, First of all, many thanks to Park for publishing the list of Temple resource books. I am wondering if anyone on this list can tell me where I can find Eunice Temple Kirkpatrick's The Temple Family of Wake County, NC and Related Families, Durham, NC, 1978. Is it available in any library system where I could possibly get it through inter-library loan? I have indications that my Temple ancestors were born around the 1840s in North Carolina, specifically the Raleigh area and I would love to see what is contained in this book. Thanks for any suggestions! Claire Edrich Temple Researcher in Denver Colorado

Hi, I hope all of you have had an opportunity to look at Ancestry's web page. There are Temples in the data base Colonial Families of the US. Vol 6. I haven't had time to check the rest. For those of you that might not be aware they add a data base each day so the list of free one changes each day. Pam
Hi all, I was browsing through family genealogies at the library when I came across the following: Edwin Bowdoin Temple b. in W. Gloucester MA, Jan 5 1863 married Hattie Carpenter Converse on Sep 4, 1884. She was b. Feb 4, 1865 in Newport NH.d. Oct 29, 1892. Edwin was the son of Howard Elder Temple b. Providence RI, May 20, 1840 who married Caroline Elizabeth Humphrey who was b. Salem MA Feb 7, 1843. Source: "Converse Family & Allied Families" by Charles Allen Converse. I can't seem to find any of the above names but with the Bowdoin middle name you would think he descended from the ME Temples. Does anyone know who this is. Ralph Temple

Thank you Park for the Temple Research List. I received it in the wide format on my computer screen, which I can read by clicking "Wrap Long Lines" under my "View" option, but it doesn't seem to want to print for me. It will only attempt to print the wide format which cuts off the right hand third of message. Anyone else have this problem who could help me? Thanks, Linda.
