Hi, Does anyone know anything about the family of a Catherine TEAL who married Nicholas NEAR? Nicholas NEAR was born in 1798 in New York, than came to Upper Canada via Pennsylvania about 1799 or 1800. He lived in Bertie Township of Welland County, which is in the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, Canada. Many TEAL families lived in Bertie Twp. as well. I found on the 1828 census of heads of households in Bertie Twp. a Henery TEAL, Zacariah TEAL and a Zacariah J. TEAL. The 2 latter TEALs were listed immediately before the name of "Nicalus NEER". Zacariah J. TEAL had 1 male under 16 in his household and 5 females over 16. I was wondering if this could have been the family of Catherine TEAL, since they lived next door. Nicholas and Catherine at this point had 1 boy and 5 girls under the age of 16. Is anyone familiar with these families? I have just discovered this connection and know nothing at all about TEAL family history. Thanks in advance, Wendy
