I know that Wash was a son of Emanuel Teal Jr., but I am not sure that his great grandfather was Edward Teal. I would appreciate any information on this family! This James McKibbin enlisted on February 24, 1862 and died of chronic diarrhea in Lynchburg, Virginia, on June 11, 1864. He is buried in Lynchburg at Confederate Cemetery #5, Lot 201. Emanuel Teal's murder is listed in "The Georgia Black Book" by Robert Scott Davis Jr. on page 159. Campbell Co., GA Superior Court Minutes (1856-1871), September 1859 session have Thomas H. Yancey and John M. Yancey plead "manslaughter" in his death and are listed in the 1860 Census of Baldwin County, Georgia in the Georgia State Penitentary. It appears that Thomas and John were brothers and that Thomas was married to Lucinda Worthan in Campbell County, Georgia. The Teal and Worthan families have inter-married on several instances.
