Hi: I've been lurking in the background reading and reviewing the archives and thought I'd take the plunge and post my line in the hopes there may be some cousins out there!! I am descended from Zechariah Teal (1790-1865) and his wife Anna (1796-1874), through their son Jacob (1822-1907) and his wife Melinda Ellsworth, and through their son James Willis Teal (1853-1924) and his wife Margaret Eliza Baxter, through their son, Orin Leroy (1878-1962) and his wife Amelia (Millie) Allison and on down through my grandpa, Leroy Allison Teal and his wife Hazel McGee, then my Dad, then me! I would love to get more details on Zechariah and his wife and verify their children, etc. There was a story that my grandpa told me that Zechariah and his two brothers rode across the U.S./Canadian border on horses under cover of darkness to start a life here in Canada - how accurate that is I have my doubts!!! The family has always said we were Pennsylvannia Dutch (I'm not really certain what that means though) I have visited the Zion Cemetary in Ridgeway where a lot of Teals are buried and would be happy to share whatever info and photos I might have that other would be interested in.
