Posted on: TEAL Wills Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/t/e/TEAL/wills/2 Surname: TEAL, TEEL, GARRETT, SHARP, PARMER ------------------------- State of Texas San Augustine County I George Teel being of sound mind and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this as my last will and Testament, Viz 1st I give and bequeath to my wife Rebecca Teel the following named negro slaves viz, Fanny aged about forty five years, Sol aged about fifty four years, Dan aged about twelve years, Gwen aged about two years, Queen aged about ten years, Malinda aged about eight years, Wesley aged about forty years, Buck aged about twenty eight years, Harriett aged about eleven years, Georgiana aged about eight years, Burnetta aged about two years, Henry aged about twen seven years, Sally aged about twenty five years, Clara aged about two years, Hager about fourteen years old, and Jordan aged about forty five, together with their future increase. Also I give to my said wife the homestead place on which I now reside together with all of horses mules cattle hogs and all other stock which may be on said place at the time of my death, also all of the farming utensils on said place and all of the household and kitchen furniture wagons and carriages which may be on said place at the time of my death and also the stock of provisions corn cotton and all other produce which may be on said farm at my death. I also give and bequeath to my said wife all of the thousand acreas of land adjoining my said house place known as the "Garrett Place" except three hundred acres which I have given to my daughter Louise Sharp off of the north west corner of said thousand acres. The above bequest to my wife is given to her in full satisfaction of her community claims and rights in my estate and also in satisfaction of her right of dowerrr. 2nd I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel Parmer wife of Thomas Parmer for her own sole and seperate use during her natural life the following named negro slaves, viz Jerry senior aged about fifty years, Marge aged about fifty two years, Fillis aged about thirty years, Anthony aged about seventeen years & Malinda aged about forty five years and also Mariah aged about ___ and Liz the last two named negroes I gave and delivered to my said daughters Rachel about nine years since. And after the death of her the said Rachel I will and bequeath the said negroe slaves last above mentioned (and given to the said Rachel for life) together with their natural increase to the heirs of the body of her the said Rachel and their descendants. I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Rachel for her sole and seperate use and during her natural life one thousand acres of land lying on the B?de Creek in Walker County it being a part of the headright League & Labor of William Garrett it commencing at the north west corner of said Garretts said grant and the same thousand acres conveyed to me by said Garrett and after the deaths of the said Rachel I then give and bequeath the said thousand acres of land to the heirs of the body of the said Rachel and their descendants. It being understood and intended by me to give to the descendants of the said heirs of the said Rachel in the event any of the said children of the said Rachel shall die before her leaving any descendants only such part of said slaves and land above bequeathed to the said Rachel for life or the shares thereof which their parent would have been entitled to under this will in case he or she had have same without the said Rachel----- 3rd I give and bequeath to my daughter Louisa Sharp wife of Dr. James Sharp for her sole and seperate use the following named negro slave, viz, Sarah aged about thirty three years Saul aged about about twenty five years, Hallena aged about seventeen years, Alla aged about eleven years Teresa aged about twenty six years, Harriett aged about two years, Ned aged about eight years, John aged about six years, Ben aged two years, Em aged about eighteen years, & Sarah the child of Emma's aged about two years & Jack aged about thirty two years together with their natural increase. I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Louisa three hundred acres of the "Garrett Place" where Dr. James Sharp now resides to be run off of the said "Garrett Place" so as to include the said residence of said Sharp and to be run off in such shape as will suit the said Shar & my said daughter Louisa, continued 4th I give and bequeath to my daughter Lucetta Garrett wife of William Garrett for her sole & seperate use the following named negro slaves viz Mary aged about twenty five years, Cinda aged about twnety years & Harriett aged about eighteen years together with such natural increase as said slaves may have had since my said daughter and said William Garrett has had the same in their possession also Polly aged about twenty three years, Frances aged about six years, William aged about four years, Sol Jr aged about one year, Rosee aged about sixteen years, Cassie about about thirteen years, Harry aged about twenty two years, Lucy Ann aged about twelve years & Millie aged about twenty eighter years. 5th I give and bequeath to my daughtyer Ollie Teel for her sole and seperate use the following named negro slaves viz Fanny aged about twenty eight years, Bobb aged about eight years, Mira aged about six years, Susan aged about two years, Adaline aged about twenty two years, Albert aged about two years, Harry aged about six months, Lucinda aged about twenty eight years, Chandler aged about forty eight years, Mariah aged about eight years, Mary aged about six years, Jane aged about two years, Chandler aged about fourteen years, and Bill aged about sixteen years. 6th I have heretofore given and conveyed tot he wife of my son Wyatt Teel what I estimated at a full equal share of a childs part of my estate as the part of my estate which was intended to be given by me to the said Wyatt and I hereby ratify and confirm the said gift to my said daughter in law Jane the wife of my said son Wyatt. 7th I also give and bequeath to my said daughter Louisa Sharp all of the natural increase of the slaves which I gave and delivered heretofore to her. 8th I hereby appoint my wife Rebecca the guardian of the person and property of my said daughter Ollie. 9th It is especially my will and desire that there shall be no dispute or litigation between my wife and my said children or between my said children or any of them in regard to my estate or any part thereof, but that they shall each carry out this my last will and testament according to its true spirit and meaning. 10th I also give and bequeath to my wife Rebecca all of the balance of my estate not herein otherwise disposed oof be the same real or personal including such money as I may have or hold at the time of my death and all debts that may be then owing to my,, and she my said wife shall pay off such debts as I may be owing at the time of my death. 11th I hereby appoint the said William Garrett and Dr. James Sharp my said sons-in-law Executors of this my last will and testament. 12th It is all so my will and desire that this my said will shall be probated and recorded in the County Court of San Augustine County by my said Executors and they shall return an inventory of my said property to said Court and that the said County or Probate Court shall have other other jurisdiction or control of my said estate and they my said Executorss shall be in no way required or obliged to account to the said Probate or County Court in the settlement my estate than to probate this my will and to return an inventory of the property I may have at the time of my death but they shall have full power and authority as Executors and Trustees as aforesaid to manage & settle my said estate in their own way. Browning The State of Texas County of San Augustine This day personally appeared in open court George S. Fuqua & R. W. Browning who after being duly sworn deposeth and sayeth that they are subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of George Teal deceased by him made on the 12th day of August A.D. 1856, that they signed the said will as witnesses in the presence of the said George Teal who signed the Same in their presence and that the said George Teal at the time of signing said last will was of sane and disposing mind and memory and requested them the said Fuqua & Browning to become subscribing witnesses to the Same and the the said will has not been altered or changed since the same was made signed and acknowledged by the said George Teal. Dixon, Clerk The State of Texas County of San Augustine We, James Sharp and William Garrett do solemnly swear that the wriitng which has been offered for Pobate is the last will & testament of George Teal so far aas we know or believe, and that we will well and truly perform all of the Duties of Executors of the said will of George Teal deceased to the Best of our skill and ability so help us God.
