    1. [TEAL] Re: TEAL'S after 1890 in MI
    2. Hi Char..... I have just recently started researching the Teall's on my husband's side of the family. Many of them are still here in Northern Michigan in a little town called Mesick, in Wexford Co. Many are also buried in the southern part of the state, Monroe Co., I do believe. Anyway I have not heard of any Teall's that own a Timber Co., or Nursery in the upper penninsula. My husband's line goes as follows Benjamin Teall William Teall and Mary Coggen Oliver Teall and Prudence Mayhew Oliver Teall and Ruth Hurd Timothy Teall and Dorothy Alcott Foote Asaph Teall and Saphrona Maria Taylor James K. Teall and Lucretia Edwards James Henry Teall and Betsey Johnson Clara May Teall and Roy George Wheeler Barbara Jean Wheeler and George Soukup If any of this fits with your research I would love to hear from you. I have a few obituaries and funeral cards from the Michigan Teall's and a few photos of Clara May Teall and James Henry Teall and a few others. Hope to hear from you.....

    2. My grandfather was a Teal from Mancester TN. His name was Clair Lecester Teal. I do not know his birth year. He died in the 1960's. He married Beulah Roberts, and they had 4 sons (Leslie, Edward, and twins Billy and Bobby). Billy is my father. I have also been told that a Teal in that area married a Cherokee Indian woman. Donna

    2. Donna, I visited Tennessee this past March to visit Teals we had never met. My grandmother, Mabel Teal, was sister to Drury Clair Teal, your great grandfather - father of your grandfather, Clair. Clair was born 12/17/05 and died 8/20/66. We met Leslie Teal in Nashville, while visiting there. I have no information about an indian marriage, but I would be interested in any other information you might share. My greatgrandparents were Martin Calvin Teal and Emley Mariah (Winegar) Teal. Bonnie Salt Lake City, Utah

In 1872 the kids were orphaned. We've not been able to search any further back. The orphaned kid's guardian was Joseph A Hambleton from Tenn. Any info would be helpful!

    1. [TEAL] Re: Teal or Teel surnames
    2. I am looking for any descendents of Thomas A. Teel / Teal and his wife Frances L. Teel / Teal, who married in Campbell Co., GA about 1872. They had the same last name and it is not known if they were related. I have a lot of information I would be happy to share. I am related through Frances' mother, Mary Hattaway, who married Jesse Teal in 1844, Mary's brother, Walter, is my ancestor. Both are children of Lacy Hattaway and Elizabeth Teal. The name appears again and again, but there seem to be no connections. Frances' sister, Mary Ann Elizabeth Teal, married James E. Worthan, who was the son of Duncan Worthan and Malinda Delilah Teal. Again, no known connection.

    1. [TEAL] FROM LIST MOM 2nd Quarterly Report for 2001
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, Here it is the end June and time for the Second Quarterly Report for 2001. Can you believe how fast the time has passed? This one almost passed me by. The TEAL Mailing List has 49 members, 36 on the Regular list and 13 members on the Digest List. As most of you know by now, the GenConnect Boards have changed. Rootsweb.com and Ancestry.com are continuing their merger and now have merged the GenConnect Boards. I am not sure of my feeling regarding this yet, but will watch it and let you know. I am not one to jump to conclusions quickly. I also take care of many GenConnect Boards and did loose all of them in which I did not take care of the Query board due all the boards, bios, wills, pensions, etc. being combined within the Query board. If you used one of these boards, now you know why I suddenly disappeared. I know many of you have concerns regarding copyright laws and the information you post to the boards and the mailing lists. The following was posted by Rootsweb Management. "When you post messages to mailing lists, message boards, and other facilities at RootsWeb, those posts remain your property under copyright law." The same is true for those using the message boards at Ancestry.com. In short, if you posted it, you own it." If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you” and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. Kathleen Burnett List Mom KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net

Plan on spending some time. There is a lot of information. http://www.lva.lib.va.us/dlp/index.htm "The Library of Virginia's Digital Library Program (DLP) is an internationally recognized effort to preserve, digitize, and provide access to significant archival and library collections. The DLP transfers rare and unique Virginia materials into an integrated, user-friendly electronic research environment.
