Dear List Members, The First Quarterly Report for 2002 is going to be just a little different than the one I usually send to the Mailing Lists I take care of. I tore my Rotator Cuff in November of last year and I find that I cannot spend long hours typing on the computer during the healing process, therefore I am going to send out one message to all of my lists and skip posting the membership numbers this time. I promise to get back to our normal reporting next quarter. Typing over 200 messages is just more than this shoulder and arm can take. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. If you do notice that one of our members has a virus, please do not post their name and e-mail address across the list. Let me know and I will take care of the problem. Most likely the member already knows and is in a major state of stress. Receiving messages of each of us will only cause his or her stress level to rise. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fullers Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any Rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will receive an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. My grandfather, William Walter Ellis, is now deceased, of course, but he and my grandmother lived at 307 E. Word for years and years. Check out the Ellis chart at www.couchgenweb.com/craighead. I don't know how much I have on there now, but Sarah Teal's mother was Mary Elizabeth Harris (born 31 Dec 1859 and died 24 Apr 1900). I believe Sarah's father was W. Frank Teal. Perhaps you have more information on him you could share? Mary Elizabeth Harris was married several times, and she died when my grandfather was only about 3 years old. That's why Sarah was having to raise all of her half siblings. Mary Elizabeth's parents were Calvin T. Harris and Sarah J. Calvin is buried at the Jordan Cemetery in Drew County, Arkansas, but I don't know where Sarah is buried. I do have a copy of Sarah's will, though. I will be glad to exhange info. You probably have a lot that will help me out also. Send me an e-mail at vaughn@tsixroads.com.

My parents divorced when I was young so this side of the family is real vague. I can't find anything on Nannie L. Teal. This is what I have. Born July 25, 1896 in Penn., died in 1952. Your info looks very promising. Do you have additional children for Benj. and Catherine? And siblings for Benj? I'm interested in your connection to the Teal family? I have a list of children of Timothy and Lucinda Teal Sanford and I notice that many of their names have middle names that show up in what would be their grandparents names, i.e. their second son was William Oliver and their first daughter was Catherine Amelia, their 6th child and 5th son was given the name of Benjamin Willard. You may reply to me directly at char21401@yahoo.com Again, thank you ever so much for this info. You've really added to my knowledge of my mother's side of the family, and this line in particular, with this information. I hope to hear from you at your convenience. SIncerely, Charlotte Caruso
