As a newcomer to the list I am hoping that there are Taylor researchers out there who can help me. I would like to prove or disprove connections between Virginia Taylors that seem to be generally accepted as accurate but for which I have been unable to find basic sources. I would like to prove or disprove these relationships: 1. Thomas Taylor, b. abt. 1637 to John Taylor and Unknown wife in Cumberland County, England. He married Mary (?) in about 1657 and died in Richmond Co., VA in abt. 1686/67. What is the proof that the John Taylor who died in Lancaster Co., VA in 1652 was this Thomas Taylor's father? 2. Thomas Taylor, b. abt. 1656 to Thomas Taylor and Mary ? in Old Rappahannock (now Richmond Co.) Co., VA, married Elizabeth Harwood in about 1680 and died in Richmond Co., VA in 1712. What is the proof of his marriage to Elizabeth Harwood and of his death in 1712 in Richmond Co. (The widow of the Thomas Taylor who d. 1712 was "Bridgett" Taylor in court records.)? 3. Thomas Taylor, born 1690 in Old Rappahannock/Richmond Co., VA, married Elizabeth Jones in abt. 1704 in Surry Co., Va and died in Surry Co. in 1743/44. What is the proof that he is the son of the Thomas Taylor and Elizabeth Harwood above? I have proof of my Taylor ancestry back to the Thomas Taylor in #3 but I am not confident at all of the earlier connections that are so widely accepted. Thanks for any help. Norvill Jones
