Debby, the John Wesley Taylor in my file is from Hart Co KY. If you will email me direct, I will include the FGS in my reply to you. I don't believe rootsweb allows this, however, it is not a file attachment. <GERENEL@prodigy.net> At 06:48 AM 8/28/02 -0400, you wrote: >Wesley married Sarah Holloway in 1827 in Clark Co., KY. In answer to your question, RootsWeb will not accept attachments because of possible virus problems and message length. If it is copied and pasted into an e-mail - as long as it is plain text - it is no problem. What does happen, though, if the message becomes extremely long, it will exceed the allowance for some subscribers when they are in the Digest mode (where all the messages are lumped together in one message and sent out only once or twice a day). This is especially true for AOL subscribers - there is a limit for what is acceptable in one message and a really long e-mail may cause the Digest to exceed that allowance. I've even sent personal messages to AOL subscribers outlining family information and they have bounced as being too long. So it's probably best if someone wants to view your file that you do it off list. Message allowance is also one of the reasons it is suggested you "trim excess" off e-mails when you answer them - especially all that "stuff" Ancestry puts at the bottom. Each time a reply is made, another tagline (those are useful to read, believe it or not!), PLUS Ancestry's message appears at the bottom of the message - I'm sure you've seen them with three or four sets of those at the bottom of messages that haven't been trimmed. Just a few tips, hopefully to help!
