Taylor (son of Dr. Stephen Taylor and Mary "Polly" Hartgrove) b. 1827 TN married to Vilety Sliger 14 Dec 1850 in Meigs Co TN. 1860 Meigs Co TN Census, with Vilety and sons, Thomas M. age 3 yrs and William S. age 10/12 mos. and C. T. Roberts, hired hand. James served in the Civil War with Capt G.W. Mckenzie's Co from Decatur, Meigs Co TN Athens Republican dated Thurs Oct. 01, 1868 states Abel & Gilbert vs James Taylor is no longer a resident of TN. His brother, Richard, and his sisters and their families went to Independence AR, Scott Co AR and later on to Indian Territory . Need any information on the above family. No receord after the 1860 Census.
