In the early 1800 time period in which David Poole lived there was only Feliciana Parish, La. which comprised the present East and West Feliciana Parishes. The Feliciana parish seat was Clinton which is the parish seat for E. Feliciana today. When the parish was divided St. Francisville became the parish seat for West Feliciana. Records for people moved, but the people still stayed where they had been living. This can cause confusion when trying to trace people. It is also not uncommon to find people apparently living in Wilkinson Co., Miss. who might actually have been residents of La. or visa versa. John
