If your people were in TN BEFORE the 1780s, then maybe the "border" changes would affect you. Otherwise, you do not have to worry abt it. There are some records in NC that concern TN before that time, but I have been told that very little of it concerns people. A great many of the early settlers came from/through NC, into TN, but they went into VA first, because it was easier. Rivers versus Mountains. There are records IN TN, for the 1780s. I have some of them. So some of you are worry about something that does not exist. Having said all this, there may be land grants in NC that were given to people going into TN. But for the most part, neither the US government, or NC wanted whites to go to that land, and stir up the Indians before they had treaties. They could not protect them. If I am wrong abt this, someone tell me! Carleen
