I agree with Ray. To split the Taylor's would not be a good idea. Before there was the Midwest and west, there was New England and the South. Your Taylor's came from these regions originally more than likely. We all have to weed through e-mails hoping to find a connection, but that is our choice, since we decided to join this list. It would be a shame to have to subscribe to another list for a particular name. Some of us, (that is why we are here) do not know where some of the family's settled after they moved away from home. I know my Taylor line started in Connecticut, to North Carolina, to Virginia, to Tennessee, to Kentucky. My grandfather had 16 kids. I have no idea where the most of them went. Ambrose's death certificate says father's name is William Taylor b in VA, mothers name Susan Bowman b Va. Other records also say his name was Ambrose (this is what my father had also been told.) Cox b 6-1-1849 m Russell Co Va date of marriage 1-16-1870. Ambrose's partents are listed as Ambrose Taylor and Mary Bowman Elizabeths' parents are listed as James Cox b 1818 and Rachael Cox b 1826 both in Scott Co. Children of Elizabeth and Ambrose: John Henry 8-6-1871 Floyd Twsp, Scott Co VA Namcy L 8-11-1872 d 10-18 1872 Scott Co VA of Bold Hives James J 8-11-1872 Elander C 6-22-1875 Second marriage of Ambrose states birth date as 4-24-1849 Place of birth as Surry Co NC He married Louisa Ellen Saunders b 1857 in Russell Co Va on 922-1884, Louisa's parents are listed as James Saunders b 1835 and Rachel b 1837.
