An old Irishman told me that when they (His parents) got to Ellis Island, their were several lines, arranged alphabeticaly, and because so many Irish arrived at the same time the lines were extremely long at the O and M windows. To hurry themselves along, they dropped the prefixes to their names. I do not know if this is true, but it sounds good, considering what I know about how way the federal government works today. I could see them sticking steadfast to the system in place. -John ----- Original Message ----- From: <McchicksH@aol.com> To: <TAYLOR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 11:22 PM Subject: Re: [TAYLOR] 11 Taylor brothers > Thanks Carleen.
