Mary, You and Ray are correct abt these ages on the census. One Taylor we have in AL was married to Elizabeth, age 000, then in a later census, Elizabeth's age was way different. As it turns out, he had married 3 times and two were Elizabeths! And, as is the case today, it seems, the last Elizabeth was much younger than him. He ended up with abt 22-25 children, so I guess he needed 3 wives. So I would keep that in mind. Look at the birth place for the wife too, is it the same? Also, what Ray said is correct. Sometimes it was neighbors who gave the information, when the census taker did not want to go to the end of that long, muddy road, etc. Then take into account that he had to make up to three copies of these surveys, County-State-Federal, then you have mistakes creep in.
