I'm looking for any information on the Taylor family who lived in Leesburg. Loudoun County, Virginia in 1776 and between that time and 1840 migrated out of Virginia to North Carolina, Georgia and then into Mississippi. I am looking in particular for the family of Reuben Taylor, born in Virginia and died 1830, Caswell Co., North Carolina. In 1776, Reuben Taylor was in Leesburg, Loudoun Co., Virginia where his son, John Marcus Taylor was born. Mother's maiden name may have been "Lee". Reuben Taylor had two other sons that I know of: Daniel Taylor and Edmund Taylor. This family left Virginia and moved into North Carolina where they made their home in the counties of Caswell and Granville. Around 1820, the Taylor family left North Carolina and moved to Jackson County, Georgia. The only Taylor of this family to have stayed behind in NC was Reuben Taylor, John M. Taylor and his brothers all moved together. Reuben Taylor had his will filed in 1830, Caswell County, NC. I find Reuben's son, John Marcus Taylor, with his family, and both brothers, Edmund and Daniel Taylor, in Old Tishomingo County, Mississippi in 1845. John Marcus Taylor married Mary Knott, daughter of James Knott and Sarah Brasfield, May 1801 in Granville Co., North Carolina. Children of this John Marcus Taylor and Mary Knott were: 1. Mary Ann Taylor - b. Dec 1, 1809 Caswell Co., NC; d. Nov. 1892 Rienzi, Alcorn Co., Mississippi. Married Cody Fowler 1835 Jackson Co., Georgia 7. Martha Taylor - b. May 26, 1812 8. Calvin Alexander Taylor - b. Jan 6, 1813; d. July 3, 1891 Rienzi, Alcorn Co., Mississippi. Married Sarah Elizabeth Heigh Dec 13, 1854 Booneville, Old Tishomingo Co., Mississippi. 9.
