Hello Rooters: I desperately need further information concerning my great uncle, George Gilbert Taylor. He was b. Aug. 10,1842 in Holden, Worcester Co.,Mass. to Joseph and Persis Taylor. I can find no information between the time he was discharged from the Civil War and the time he entered the Soldier's Home in Bristol, Bristol Co.,RI. I would like to find out if he married and if he had children. His pension papers simply say he lived in several places including Boston, and he wanted to go west. West could mean west as far as the Connecticut River ! His record from Soldier's Home states his next of kin was his nephew, named for George's father, Joseph. This can mean he never married or his wife and/or children were dead. (George died in 1915). Any help or suggestions will be appreciated !
