The best thing someone ever said to me about having a royal line, was years ago when I was starting out. We had a "lady," and she was just that, with the proper, old, Southern way of speaking. One day at the library, I said to everyone, "Hey, look at this, I may be royal!" She looked down the table and said, quietly, "Dear, don't wish for a Royal line, they are so inbred." We all fell out of our chairs laughing! It became one of our favorite sayings. NOW, I find I am inbred, for sure, several time over! Jokes on me! But so is the President, Barbara Bush is my 6th cousin. Good company, I think. Carleen

Carleen, They did a lot of marrying first and second cousins back in those days. I found where one of my families brothers married his oldest brothers daughter and none of the ones doing genealogy knew, except for me. I figured it out when I saw their family tree and then went to library and proved it.
