I have never found a military record either and I have looked hard. My best leads have been in some Taylors who immigrated from England to St. Mary's Co MD. Henry and George moved over to Loudon, then WT shows up owning land on the southern border, at Middleburg VA. That seems to be where he stayed, part of the record has him doing things in Faquier Co Va which borders that area of Loudon. There are a lot of Taylors there in St Mary's all interconnected . Looking for any info on Bird Taylor, born ca 1800 VA, married Fanny Arden 1822 in Pike Co, KY. Except for marriage and a short stint in Pike Co around 1850, he was located in Washington Co, VA, then Smyth Co when it split off in 1832. He was still in Smyth Co in 1870 living with his son but disappeared after that. I have most, if not all, of their children if anyone is interested. Any data appreciated.
