    3. Hi Pam and Sue Nice to see some more researchers from the UK. I am also looking for a branch of my family some of who eventually went to Australia. This branch come from Lancashire though. Nathaniel TAYLOR b. 1824 Oldham, Lancs m. Mary CROWTHER b 1824 Bury, Lancs Children all born in Bury, Lancs Roger b 1851/John Thomas b 1852 (my gg grandfather)/Phoebe b 1855/Jacob b 1858 Harriet b 1860/Emma b 1861/James b 1865/Margaret b 1870 It is Jacob and his family I was looking for. They emmigrated to Australia after 1901. I think his wife was called Betsy and they had 4 children Mary Alice b 1880/George b 1889/Margaret b 1891/Alfred b 1893. I have Taylors on both my mothers and fathers sides and Taylors marrying Taylors! 3. Hi Helen, As you say nice to see others 'trying' to research TAYLORs in England. As far as I know my lot were North Yorkshire based and weren't brave enough to stray over the Pennines into the 'badlands' of Lancashire (remember the War of the Roses). How successful has your research in Lancashire been? Cheers Sue -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. 3. Hi Sue Thank you for replying. My Lancashire Taylors go back to Nathaniel TAYLOR who was born in Oldham, Lancs in 1824 (my maternal ggg grandfather) who married a Mary CROWTHER born in Bury, Lancs in 1824. I've hit a wall here as am just researching mainly on line and from old family letters etc. My fathers TAYLOR's come from Nottinghamshire, the oldest I can find being Thomas TAYLOR born Sibthorpe, Notts 1820 and married a Mary (HARRIS?). Both my paternal and maternal grandparents ended up living and working in Bradford, West Yorkshire, both grandfathers on the railway. Good luck with your research and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
