Hi List, My Taylors were/and have been in South Carolina for two hundred plus years and I've been researching for quite a few years with no results. Some of the folks have answered my query with similiar names in thier families but connecting the families is the brick wall. I have a John Taylor in the 1790 census for the old Orangebourgh district, SC. In the St Matthews Parish, SC I found John and Joseph Taylor owing land and paying taxes in that area in 1818. Later Joseph is married and by 1850 he Susannah had at least ten children. By 1860, in the St Johns Berkeley Parish, Charleston District, SC, some of the children had their families started. There was a Gabriel or George Taylor that married an Elizabeth Jackson? and they had five girls. One of the girls married a PATE. Next I found Frederick J Taylor had married a Catherine Baylor and they had three boys and one girl. # 1 Lewis Christopher Taylor married a Martha J Cady----GA # 2 John Wesley Taylor married Sarah Annie Murray-----SC # 3 Isabel Janie Taylor married Seaborn Isaac Williams--SC # 4 James Frederick Taylor married Daisy L Rourke--SC--FL By Feb 1852, Joseph and Susannah is dead. Burial site is unknown. Frederick died on the way home from the war. Co.D, 4th SC Cav.. Some of the other childrens names were Mary, Linda, Benjamin A, Allen P, Erin W, James and Henry. Looking for any information on any of the families. I have information on Gabriel and Frederick's families. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks, Murray Taylor--SC
