Re Ann Lewis and her daughter-in-law Lucy Byne. Because of the marriage of Lucy Byne with Capt. Richard Taylor, son of Ann Lewis and Edmund Taylor, I have suspected that there was a connection of the Lewises and Bynes of King and Queen Co, VA. My many great grandfather was Rev. Edmund Byne who married another Ann Lewis, probably in King and Queen Co. before he brought his family from that county to Burke Co., GA, shortly after the Rev. War. Unfortunately, the records of King and Queen Co. were burned, so there is little on the Byne and Lewis families in that county, except what has been handed down through the family lines. Some of this information for the early famiies can be found in Vol. 17 of the Charles H. Andrews Papers, in the portion for the Iverson Louis Harris papers, in the Southern Historical Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
