Hi I have a John Thomas Taylor born 9 March 1852 in Elton, Bury, Lancashire (my great great grandfather). He married Alice Ann Downs (born 9 Feb 1854) in April 1874 in Elton, Bury, Lancashire. They emigrated to USA, New Bedford, Mass. I think in the early 1900's their children Christian, Tom Gregson and Mary Jane (their sister Emma, my great grandmother stayed in UK). I have info on some of my American cousins but could do with some help. Also John Thomas' father was Nathaniel Taylor 1824-1892 who married Mary Crowther. (my great great great grandparents) They also lived in Bury, Lancashire, UK but I have no info on their parents. Any help? Helen Taylor

Helen; My Taylors came from Antrim, Ulster, IRE to America abt 1737. They were Scots-Irish. I recently took the Taylor DNA test and it proved identical to that of Jeb Stuart Taylor who thinks he descends from the same line as President Zachary Taylor (We also have that family Legend!!)whose family came to America from Carlisle, England abt 1620. The Taylor homeland is half way across the Scotland/England border. They were called "Borderers" I don't know when my Taylors were sent from Scotland to Ulster. Do you?
