I am searching for information on the family of William J. Taylor, the son of William M. Taylor. William J. Taylor married Catharine Dopson in Pike County, Georgia and had sons James Floyd and William D. William J. was wounded at Spotsylvania, Virginia during the Civil War and died in a hospital in Richmond. In 1870 Catharine and the children were in Pike County Georgia and in 1880 both children were married and living in Alabama but Catharine had disappeared. Floyd later moved to Texas. William D left his wife (Lucy Ann Brown) and children in Alabama and the story passed down through the family was that he also went to Texas but I cannot find any record of him after 1880. William J. Taylor was ggggrandfather. Bobby Donald
Bobby, which one of your TAYLORs did you find in the 1880 census, and what county was he in? How old was Catharine DOPSON TAYLOR on the 1870 census, and what state did it say she was born in? Kay C. P.S. - My grand-daughter has TAYLOR line, that I am researching. Does anyone have a FINES line with or connected to their TAYLOR line. The FINES might be with a TAYLOR family that went West on the Oregon Trail. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, January 23, 2005 6:40 PM Subject: [TAYLOR] William J.
