Marilyn list admin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Taylor" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 14 March, 2005 4:24 PM Subject: taylor-maine | | I have a brick wall when it come to my Taylors in Maine. I can only go back | to 1911, where Howard Taylor, son of Nathan and Emma (?) Taylor was married | in York, Maine. According to his marraige | certificate, at the time of the wedding his father was deceased and his | mother lived in York Beach area. Other info on it had her maiden name as | Goodwin but had a question mark next to it. It listed Howard as being 24, so | his birth year would be approximately 1887-88. There is no records in the | town relating to any of these people. In 1912, Howard Taylor and his wife | moved to Westbrook, | Maine where the family became established. They had at least 2 sons, Howard | and John. The Taylors seemed to have lots of sons. If these people sound | familiar please let me know. There are no records of where Nathan or Emma | came from ,or where they ended up. I know there is indian and french in our | family. We have our usual stories etc, but I'm looking for any help. | Thank you for your help, | Bob Taylor | | [email protected] |

    3. Bob, In a search of the NEHGS website, NewEnlandAncestors.org, the only record I could find were the following entries from the Index to Maine marriages: 11/14/1911 Howard Taylor married Frances G. Avery at York, Me. both were residents of York at the time of marriage. 08/01/1929 Howard Taylor married Myrtle Seely at Westbrook, both residents of Westbrook. And another record with same date of 08/01/1929 Howard Taylor married Myrtle Chesley. Maybe a second marriage for both and the two last names for Myrtle are her maiden and married names? I'll let you know if I come up with anything else.
