Bob, Found in Vital Records of Augusta, Me.: Jan 27, 1863 Marriage Intention of Nathan W. Taylor,( son of Sidney), and Emma C. Turner. There are many Taylor's in these Augusta, vitals. This Nathan and Emma would have been about the right age and marriage date for possible parents of your Howard Taylor. I don't know how close Augusta and York are. Might be worth looking into.
