Is anyone out there researching Taylors of Ashe or Wilkes County NC? I have been searching for years and have been subscribed to this listserv for years, and no one seems to ever have anything about any Taylors from this area. I am looking for a Henry Taylor, born about 1832 who married Matilda ????. His son Melvin, born around 1854 was my great-grandfather, Melvin married Amanda Darnell Sheets. Their son, William Grover Cleveland Taylor was my grandfather. Ashe County is home to West Jefferson, Jefferson, and Creston, NC. This is the area I am looking for. Have you ever listed any of the data you have collected over the years on any Genealogy web site.I searched the names you listed, found none. It might help your cause to list, even on a free website.
