Since the list is active right now, I think it's a good time to ask about my "brick wall". He's James taylor, born 1844 and served in civil war from Mass. His pension papers give his pob as Vt. but there are no records of his birth, or anything on his parents. His parents were Francis and Martha, (possibly Foss).He married in RI and died in Lowell, Ma. 1884. I've checked all census and haven't found his parents or him before he appears in 1880. I would appreciate any info and/or suggestions! Thanks...Maryann
