Hi Linda: I found my Noah on the 1880 Census, Jofield, Whitley, Kentucky. He was not married yet, as he was only 21. Irvin Taylor, 47, born Kentucky, farmer, parents both born VA Mary, 47, born VA, keeping house, parents both born VA Noah, 21, b. KY, labor John, 15, b. KY, labor Nancy J., 13, b. KY Sarah E., 9, b. KY I have a problem with the parents. I have both an Irwin and a Mary A. listed as children listed of Jesse Moses Taylor and Nancy Green. BUT Irwin married a Mary Anna Mink, and Mary A. married an Irvin. Could just be sloppy record keeping in the various Census records, and of COURSE, there are no birth records for these years. A big puzzle. I feel in my heart that this Irvin and Irwin are one and the same, but can't prove it. Just too big a coincidence for my orderly mind, I guess. But that is my Noah, anyway, either way.
