Are any of the Taylor List researchers descended from or familiar with our ancestor, William Taylor who was born in Concord, MA in 1625 and died there on 6 Dec. 1696? It's likely that his line or his spouse's line goes back to Kent, England. The matriarchal lines include women from the Merriam, Whitacre/Whitaker, Blanchard, Converse, Farrar, Leonard and Holcomb families of New England. Our line is descended from one of his sons Abraham Taylor of Concord, MA. (the following lines include Timothy Taylor of Dunstable, MA; Joel V. Taylor of Hollis, New Hampshire; Elbridge Gerry Taylor of Rupert, VT and Erie County, NY; Joel V. Taylor of Omro, WI and Evanston, IL; Gerry Taylor of Evanston, IL; Evarts Bugh Taylor of Glencoe, IL; Evarts Bugh Taylor, Jr. of Glencoe, IL; E. B. Taylor III. of IL) According to our participation in the Family TreeDNA/Taylor project, the markers indicate a slight mutation from the Taylor participants whose ancestors inhabited the southern region of Virginia, the Carolinas, yet our line always resided in New England until moving to the Great Lakes region in the 19th century. I believe the line of Abraham Taylor has been pretty well recorded and have seen it in my research for my New England Taylors. I have membership in New England Historic and Genealogical Society and can do lookuos of their online databases. Is ther anything in particular you are looking for? My Taylors were from Sciuate, R.I. and my Whittakers were from Scituate, Mass. The Whittaker line dead ends with a John b. 1810 England or Scituate? and the Taylor line dead ends with a John b. abt. 1675, married at Milton, Mass, and settled at Scituate (Providence) Rhode Island. Hi Folks, NOW SEARCH OVER 600 BOOKS WHICH THE FAMILY HISTORY LIBRARY HAS ONLINE. In Sept. 2005, the LDS Family History Library announced that it has begun the process of digitizing & making available on the Internet ALL of the Family History books in their collection. HOW TO FIND THE DIGITIZED IMAGES The Surname search page is found at this URL: http://www.lib.byu.edu/fhc/ I ran a search on the surname Taylor and got 126 search hit results. Several of them were for family history books relating to Taylor families. Dale E.
