    1. TAYLOR/Robert W.L. Aberdeenshire and Quincy, MA (re-posting)
    2. James Smith
    3. Hello All! My ggrandfather, Robert W.F. Taylor was b. in Scotland on January 1, 1850, the date according to cemetary records. He arrived in Quincy, MA and m. Julia LITTLE in 1876 and was a worker in the granite quarries. His mother and father were James and Jane Taylor. I’ve failed to learn how and when he arrived or anything certain about his family in Scotland. I have located a James and Jane TAYLOR in Aberdinshire who parented a son, Robert W.F. (William Forbes) TAYLOR b. in 1848 and the 1850 census shows that record. His mother died in childbirth before the next census taking and Robert does not appear in 1860 or 1870 with the family census record. To date I have not been able to locate a ship’s manifest documenting his arrival in the U.S. nor have I been successful in locating naturalization papers or any other connecting documents. I want to believe that this is a connection, but I can’t connect the two families. How common was it to have to middle names? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
