I've just joined this list. I've spent all weekend researching James H. Taylor b. Canada approx 22 Jan 1811. He married Chloe/Clara Stansel (where?). According to combination of 1860 and 1870 census children are:Robert b. 1849, Anna b. 1844, Elisabeth b. 1851, Benjamin b. 1855, Hatty b. 1857, Linas b. 1859, Donna b. 1864 and Eli (?spelling hard to read) 1867. They were in Allendale, MI. He died 25 Jul 1873 of small pox. From 3-1-1872 to 4/12/1872 he was in the Ottawa County Poor Farm. My ancestor is his daughter Donna Marie. Some in my family say she was part Indian and pictures of her show some Indian features. Where did he come from in Canada. Where did they marry? Where did the other children go?
