    3. Still looking for: David Taylor born in England in mid 1830s, listed in Arkansas census in Batesville in 1880 as married to Kate Wilkerson with 3 children - Andrew, Lula and George my grandmother, Bertha Louise, was said to have been born to this family in mid 1880s in same location and Kate died at her birth she was given to William and Lucy York to raise at the age of 2 - 4 - same location - they moved to Texas by 1900 story is that a man/boy and 2 young girls rode up on a horse to the York farm outside of Batesville the Yorks were asked to take the girls but they declined to take the older one - said to have had leg deformity the York's story was that they had never seen any of the 3 before but they gave my grandmother the names of her family as shown in the 1880 census without mention of George - in addition one of the York son's was given the middle name of Wilkerson - Kate's maiden name i don't buy the never knew them before part because the Yorks argued to the day they died over whether they got my grandmother when she was 2 or 4 - i figure there is quite a noticeable difference in the capabilities of a 2 vs 4 year old so that if they couldn't remember that simple fact how could they remember the names of a family they had never known the 1860 census of Woodruff County has a David Taylor from England married to someone else and a Kate Wilkerson living with the Enoch Morrison family as a housekeeper - the Morrison daughters had names similar to Lula and Louise, the names given Kate Wilkerson Taylor's 2 girls all of this seems like more than coincidence to me but can't find any proof thanks for any help with this!!
