You need to have a living male with surname Taylor that is willing to provide a sample of his DNA. The sample is taken with a simple mouth swab and involves no pain or blood. It is done by rubbing the swab on the inside of the cheek and then mailing the samples to the DNA processing lab. Go to www.relativegenetics.com and order the 26 marker kit. Indicate on the return mailer that you wish to be included in the Taylor Family DNA Project. I am the coordinator for the project. We have about 90 participants in the study as of today with more samples in process. We would like to be able to categorize all the various Taylor lineages based on their DNA patterns. We are especially interested in Taylor families that have early American roots. Some of those that are heavily involved in the study have connections to Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. We have a few others with New England lineages. We are seeking participants in Europe in hopes that we might find some ancestral homes of some of the Taylor families.
