    3. Hi Folks, Here's something Taylor-related that came into my e-mail box via the Abbeville County e-mail list. Dale E. In the book, "The Neglected Thread: A journal from the Calhoun community, 1836-1842"; by Mary Elizabeth Moragne Davis, she mentions stopping at a Hotel run by a Colonel Taylor and his lovely wife while on a journey from her home in New Bordeaux, to Table Rock State Park in Pickens County. The Hotel was presumably somewhere around either Lowndesville/Abbeville area or Anderson Court House. The newsletter, "The Clarks Hill (Dam)--(Lake) Russell Highlights," claimed the Hotel was the Diamond Springs Hotel of Lowndesville near the Savannah River, built by my g-g-grandfather, John W. Brown, and I am trying to verify this. Are you familiar with a Colonel Taylor who ran a Hotel around 1840? Please let me know. Thank you! Joanne Brown Revell
