Hi Cathy, I am very interested in your Thomas Jefferson Taylor. I have a John Jefferson Washington Ebinezer Taylor. b. cir 1850. Ga. Wondered if there was a connection? Any help to locate this line would be appreciated. Thanks Adalene
Dear Deborah, I would very much like to talk with you about this Thomas Jefferson Taylor. I have been searching for a Thomas Jefferson Taylor born 1832 supposedly in Stewart county but this could very well be wrong. I have not been able to find his birth in Stewart County nor did my great aunt who researched him most of her adult life. First off - Thanks to all of you that replied to Mr. Hyland about the cemetery issue in rezoning application in Fairfax County, VA - he said he had been getting emails from everywhere. Next, because of an issue with storm water management on this property - the hearing and vote that had been scheduled for last night was postponed again until July 31st. Again, thanks to each of you! I am looking for long lost cousins of my husband. They are Aaron Charles and Danny Ray Taylor. Aaron was born in 1963 in OK or KS and Danny in 1964 in OK or KS. Their father was Aaron Clell Taylor. Due to mental illness, he abandoned the children and their mother, Pat, when the kids were very young. I assume she married later and perhaps the children took on her husband's name. If anyone has any information on these men, please let me know. Melinda Taylor

I get so angry at the politicians who think cemeteries are plots of land to be given out for votes. Cemeteries are sacred places where our ancestors are put to spend the rest of eternity. No cemetery, no matter who "owns" it should ever undergo the sacrilege of the bulldozer. Personally, I would never vote for a politician who allowed such a thing to happen. Dear Family Researcher - I am trying to make a long story short and ask for your help in postponing the rezoning on a family cemetery in Fairfax County VA. If this rezoning precedes it will be a major step in allowing a builder/developer to absorb this cemetery (about ¾ acre) into a new housing development (11.04 acres) while there are unresolved legal issues. The cemetery in question was established or 'set aside' in a will of Archibald Hall in 1836 and does include graves. The families associated with this cemetery include - HALL, SUTHERLAND, DEAVERS, BEACH, LUDLOW, TAYLOR, and more There is a current lawsuit filed in Fairfax County claiming that the ruling regarding the legal ownership issue of this cemetery needs to be revisited and that fraud was involved in a previous "quiet title suit". However, pleas to the members Fairfax Board of Supervisors are being rebuffed - (I am just a single vote and am hoping more 'voices' will be heard). We're not asking the Board of Supervisors to make a legal ruling on this matter - only asking them to postpone or delay the vote on rezoning the cemetery property until the legal ownership question is resolved in the court system. If you would please support us and send an email to Gerald W. "Gerry" Hyland Supervisor, Mount Vernon District, Fairfax County, VA at Gerald.Hyland@fairfaxcounty.gov Or go to this link and fill in the form https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gov/bos/cforms/mvd_feedback.asp Feel free to cut and paste the following email if you wish - Good Day Mr. Hyland; This letter is in reference to Public Hearing on RZ 2005-MV-001 (Brookfield Ridge Road, LLC) RZ Appl. to rezone from R-1 to PDH-2 to permit residential development at a density of 1.82 dwelling units per acre (du/ac). I feel the Public Hearing on RZ 2005-MV-001 currently scheduled to be heard on Monday, June 26th, 2006 at 5 p.m. SHOULD BE POSTPONED, allowing the current court action to proceed until the ownership of the cemetery, included in this rezoning application, is legally resolved. Thank you, (Make sure you type your name, address, city & state - before sending) Please send me an email lannytaylor@att.net or a copy of the email you send to Mr. Hyland so I can keep track.
