I have membership in New England Historic and Genealogical Society and can do lookuos of their online databases. Is ther anything in particular you are looking for? My Taylors were from Sciuate, R.I. and my Whittakers were from Scituate, Mass. The Whittaker line dead ends with a John b. 1810 England or Scituate? and the Taylor line dead ends with a John b. abt. 1675, married at Milton, Mass, and settled at Scituate (Providence) Rhode Island. 3. Are any of the Taylor List researchers descended from or familiar with our ancestor, William Taylor who was born in Concord, MA in 1625 and died there on 6 Dec. 1696? It's likely that his line or his spouse's line goes back to Kent, England. The matriarchal lines include women from the Merriam, Whitacre/Whitaker, Blanchard, Converse, Farrar, Leonard and Holcomb families of New England. Our line is descended from one of his sons Abraham Taylor of Concord, MA. (the following lines include Timothy Taylor of Dunstable, MA; Joel V. Taylor of Hollis, New Hampshire; Elbridge Gerry Taylor of Rupert, VT and Erie County, NY; Joel V. Taylor of Omro, WI and Evanston, IL; Gerry Taylor of Evanston, IL; Evarts Bugh Taylor of Glencoe, IL; Evarts Bugh Taylor, Jr. of Glencoe, IL; E. B. Taylor III. of IL) According to our participation in the Family TreeDNA/Taylor project, the markers indicate a slight mutation from the Taylor participants whose ancestors inhabited the southern region of Virginia, the Carolinas, yet our line always resided in New England until moving to the Great Lakes region in the 19th century. 3. Hello Taylors, I descend from SARAH ELLEN TAYLOR HEAD (my gr grandmother) of Surry Co NC (later Morgan Co IN). She was the daughter of Matthew Taylor, JR of Surry CO NC> If anybody on the list is genetically related to Matthew Taylor Sr. or Jr., I would love to hear from them. Matthew Taylor Jr., had sons Thomas, Mathew, Mark, William, John and Francis. They are all named as heirs of Matthew Taylor and Frances (Martin) Taylor, in a Yadkin Co 3 April 1854, deed. Also listed are daughters Sarah Ellen, Jane and Judith. Anybody recognize any of these Taylors? I have much on Sarah and Janes descendants which I would love to share. Barbara Head Ward in Indiana

    1. Four high-resolution 67 marker DNA tests ordered within the last month.
    2. Dale E. Reddick
    3. Hi Folks, As many of you know, we've had some success in forming family groupings of genetically related folks as a result of DNA testing of the Taylors. Since July 21 we've had -four- individuals expand their personal testing out to 67 genetic markers. Why would they do this? To try and factually answer questions relating to their genetic relatedness via a scientific method of research. Some of these individuals are either going to -prove- genetic relatedness to another Taylor or else that potential relatedness is going to be blown away by the results of their expanded testing. We've got two websites displaying results of our testing program. The two sites are slightly different in appearance, but they contain -mostly- the same information (one is updated automatically, while the other requires the webmaster to get in there and -work- at updating the contents). We've now got -SIX- groupings of Taylors who appear to be genetically related. Here are the URLs for our publicly accessible results: http://taylordna.org/y-dna.html http://www.familytreedna.com/public/taylorfamilygenes/index.aspx?fixed_columns=on I hope that all of you can view these results and that some part of what is presented proves to be useful to you in your research efforts into your own Taylor ancestry. Sincerely, Dale E. Reddick (son of E. Taylor Reddick)
