    1. Re: [TAYLOR] Edward TRAYLOR (rec. as "TAYLOR", 1800, Brunswick Co., VA
    2. Pam Stone
    3. Hi, all, Regarding the Edward TRAYLOR I was referring to (recorded in Brunswick Co., VA in 1800 as Edward TAYLOR) was b. about 1765 or so, probably in Dinwiddie Co., VA. (I was mistaken---I said he was recorded on the Census, but he was recorded on the Tax List of 1800---paid 1 white male poll over 16, and one horse. Must have been living on someone else's land, though---not recorded on the census that year in his own household.) He was the eldest son and heir of my Joseph TRAYLOR & Elizabeth UNKNOWN of Prince George, Lunenburg & Brunswick Cos., VA & of Caswell Co., NC. His siblings were Martha (b. ca. 1763; m. William HOWERTON); Thomas Getson TRAYLOR; and John TRAYLOR. The other three siblings all moved to Edgefield Co., SC. Martha died after 1819, probably in Alabama. Thomas died in Georgia, and John Traylor died in Edgefield, SC, though his children also moved to Alabama. I have partial records of a Chancery suit by Joseph TRAYLOR's second wife, Mary (apparently DAVIS, a widow of a Caswell Co., NC Davis man.) She & Joseph had no children, but she was having a hard time, beginning in 1795, getting Edward Traylor to hand over one-thirds dower she had a right to by law. (Don't know the outcome, but the most important fact shown by this suit is that Joseph & his first wife, Elizabeth, had only four children---this makes all those other Traylors in the records of his 1794 estate in Brunswick Co. appear in a very different light...) Anyway, I don't know about Edward, except for those facts. I am wondering if he had any surviving children, and who they might have been. Pam pamstone@cfl.rr.com

    3. Hi, everyone, I am looking for descendants of Edward TAYLOR of Brunswick Co., VA. He was recorded there in 1800, and I would like to connect to any of his descendants. Look forward to hearing back from any descendant of Edward TAYLOR (or Edward TRAYLOR, who also fits in this same time frame.) I believe they were the same man, but I am trying to find a marriage record for him, or children of him, and the subsequent descendants of him. TAYLOR or TRAYLOR? Anyone who connects to an Edward TAYLOR or TRAYLOR that lived in Brunswick Co., VA at that time (about 1784-1800), please contact me. Thanks! Pam pamstone@cfl.rr.com

    3. Hi, I am researching the ancestors and descendants of Francis Edlow and Martha Richardson (Wells) Taylor. One question I have is regarding the birthdates for Francis, Martha and their children. Can anyone tell me where those came from? Does someone have a family Bible perhaps? I am attempting to document with original source material as much as possible, and so far I have not been able to find anything regarding the birthdates. I am not descended from this family myself, although I may be descended from the same Thornton line, if those connections prove out. My husband is superintendent at Fort Richardson State Park. Francis was apparently in the military here at the Fort in the 1870's, although I need to confirm that. Two of their grandsons - sons of Julia Stanton - are buried here. My husband asked me to research their family in the interest of preserving the history of the park, to know more about the family. It is not intended for profit of any kind. I would love to hear from descendants of Francis and Martha Taylor. And I'd enjoy visiting with descendants of Robley and Julia (Taylor) Stanton - hoping for more information about this family. Below is what I show for Francis and Martha and their children and for Julia and Robley Stanton. Some of this is from Worldconnect and some is from source material. There may be errors - which is what I'm checking for. It is definitely a work in progress. I would be happy to exchange information. I hope to hear from you and hope you can help. Kind regards, Dee FRANCIS EDLOW TAYLOR born February 25, 1815 in Kentucky, and died January 30, 1903 in Decatur, Wise County, Texas. 3. I have a Samuel H Taylor. But I don't know where he was in 1890. His last appearance was in Woodruff Co. Arkansas in the 1880 census. He was my Great Great Grandfather. His wife is widowed on the 1900 census and she remains in Woodruff Co. Ark. I do suspect Samuel followed the railroad. He was born in 1847 and his middle name was Huston. Hope this is your man! I have been stuck at his name for a while. 3. Re those of name "Henry Taylor". Does anyone have information on an Henry Taylor who served fin the War of 1812, presumably, from Hamilton Co., Ohio? I say presumably because the county from which his company served is unknown, but by matching the 1820 census with the names in his company, I concluded some years ago that Hamilton was the county. Also more recently I found that my ancestor Cornelius Taylor was living in Hamilton Co. when he served in the same company. I am trying to determine of Henry and Cornelius were of the same family.
