Their son, John W., was the right age to be my son-in-law's John Wesley. No one in my son-in-law's family knows a thing about their Taylor ancestors. Here is an obituary I obtained for John Wesley Taylor who died in Callahan Co., TX: Baird Star - 18 Jun 1926 John Wesley Taylor, Dies - John Wesley Taylor, father of Mrs. R. A. Elder, of Baird, died June 11, 1926 at Baird. Aged 67 years. Mr. Taylor was a native of Tennessee and a cousin of Gov. Bob Taylor of that state. The funeral was held at the Baptist Church Saturday, conducted by Rev. Joe R. Mayes, Pastor. Interment in Ross Cemetery. Mr. Taylor had been in ill health for some time before his death. I have no idea if he was related to Gov. Bob Taylor of TN or not, but Gov. Bob's father was Nathaniel Green Taylor. Martha and John W. Taylor of Maury Co. had a son, N. G. "Nat" married Sallie E. Roan, daughter of Eliza Matilda McClain and William Rudolph Roan of Maury Co. Nat and Sallie Taylor were listed in 1880 Giles Co., TN and 1900 in Hunt Co., TX. Emma and John W. Taylor were married 1880 in Hunt Co., TX, and I haven't been able to find them in 1880; they were in Limestone Co., TX in 1900, Taylor Co., TX in 1910, and Hill Co., TX in 1920. Emma B. Roan Taylor was in Callahan Co., TX in 1930 and died 1940 in Big Spring, Howard Co., TX. I would love to find some information on Martha (especially her surname) and John W. Taylor. 2. Thank you for your kind offer. I do not know where they are buried but I suspect that it is in Rose City Cem along with her mother. Her mother died out there on a visit in 1923 her name was Hannah B. Marshall. I don't know how hard it is to look up death certif's. If there is a chance that you might be able to look up the two numbers listed below, one of them I'm pretty sure, is George's. If it is too difficult, please don't go to any bother. Thanks for the offer, Joan ---- jllee wrote: >Do you know where they are buried? >I was born in Portland. 1. [TAYLOR] Obituary for David Alan Taylor
    2. Arizona Daily Star Tucson, AZ September 3, 2006 David Alan Taylor an Arizonan since age two, passed away suddenly from pneumonia in Tucson, August 29, 2006 at the age of 55. Dave specialized in making the dreams of others come true. He was a custom contractor with an artist's eye, and he possessed phenomenal skills at shaping materials. Wood, metal, stone, tile, cement, or dry wall, Dave was a master of them all. He was an expert electrician, plumber, mason, and carpenter. The homes he built or remodeled are eloquent testimonials to the love and attention to detail he poured into all of his projects. People loved Dave. He was perhaps the most non-judgmental human most of us will ever encounter. Within moments, people instinctively knew they had met a man of unflinching integrity. Furthermore, everyone felt that their relationship with Dave was unique. Dave always had the knack of knowing the perfect gift, little or large, that made life brighter for the recipient. His generosity with his resources, his talents, and his time were simply remarkable. He was one of the few people to walk our world who inspired no animosity in anyone. His love for all things wild defined his personality. The serenity he felt after a day in the mountains was almost tangible. Dave leaves behind untold friends and is survived by a family that is very proud of his words and his deeds. Foremost in his heart were his daughter, Sherry Taylor; his son, Shad Taylor (deceased); his mother, Joyce Taylor; his father, Hank Taylor (deceased); his sister, Nadyne (Jack) Huber and his brothers, Chuck (Heidi) Taylor, Rick (Lynne) Taylor and Mark (Alice) Taylor, as well as their children and their children's children. A tribute to Dave Taylor will be held at the pond on his property in Whitetail Canyon in the Chiricahua Mountains at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22.
