    3. Thank you for responding! My mother in law was a TAYLOR and the TAYLOR cousins are getting ready to have a fifth TAYLOR Cousins Reunion at Lake Norman, NC come May of this year, and I was trying to go further back in time before Jacob. Is this TAYLOR Family of English decent or do they fall under the "Schneider" set of TAYLORs? I will surely contact the two gentlemen who's address you have graciously provided. 1. Re: [TAYLOR] Jacob TAYLOR
    2. Earl Taylor
    3. Ray H Smith; I think your Jacob Taylor is a descendant of Isaac (COUSIN) Taylor of Augusta Co. VA. Cousin Isaac lived on land of my Isaac (in will of Isaac Taylor jr) in "little cabin on Mill Creek". They came to America abt the same time, lived close together, moved and died abt the same time, They named their children mostly the same names but my Isaac had a son George who had only one child, a daughter Sarah (named in Isaac's will) Cousin Isaac's son George had many children including Adam who was progenitor of a great many Taylors. Paul Phelps and Theodore Halstead descend from that line. Theo Halstead just sent me a gedcom of George's descendants. I can't forward it to you as I have no e-mail address for you. The message was MANY PAGES, I TRIED TO PRINT IT AND RAN OUT OF PAPER WITH PAGE 70!! I don't know how many more there are and I can't make my printer pick up at page 71. Paul Phelps <pbphelps@cpug.org> Theodore Halstead <tedandlue@msn.com>. After I get these names entered in my program I can search for Jacob Taylor. It's too daunting to go thru these 70 pages. Maybe Theo or Paul can help you. 2. ROBERT TAYLOR
    3. Earl, Dad's birth certificate (a delayed one, dated 14 Apr 1944, shows my grandfather as Cyrus C. Taylor, DOB unknown, POB IL. He married my grandmother, Polly Veatrice Crews in Jackson County, OK, Jan 1914. He appears in the 1880 US Census as the son of Withford and Jennie A.K. Paddock Taylor, age 2, in Paris, Edgar Co., IL. Withford's father and Cyrus' grandfather was Wesley W. Taylor, who married Betsy Matilda Jones 18 Jul 1852 in Edgar Co., IL, and who appears in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 US censuses in Edgar County. Wesley's father was apparently a T.P.L. Taylor who shows in the 1850 census for Helt, Vermillion Co., IN, with his wife, Sarah, both born in TN. I haven't located Cyrus in the 1900 and 1910 US census, and I haven't been able to trace the family to where they came from in TN. I'm interested in what you have for this Charles Burtin Taylor. Cyrus was probably born between 28 Jun 1877 and 26 Feb 1878 (he's listed as 39 when Dad was born 26 Feb 1917, and 2 when enumerated 28 Jun 1880 in the 1880 US census). There's some thought that Wesley's father might have been Theodore Taylor, who shows up in the Helt, Vermillion Co., IN 1840 US census with the right mix of children. That's about all I have right now. Isn't that a coincidence? Those families are from Boonville, Cooper county, Missouri. KOPP is probably your married name? Where do they originate? 2. Hello Linda, Perhaps we are, though as you know, there are many, many of us. My ancestors migrated through New York City about 1790 and thence to Western N.Y. then to Michigan. This Octogenarian was smart enough to leave Michigan and establish in Mississippi. If your lineage traces back to N.Y. state, there may be a linkage. Perhaps we are acquainted. Are you the Linda Taylor who attended the local Unitarian Church a few years back? Appreciatively, Bill T. In a message dated 1/12/2007 2:53:20 P.M.
