You know I am searching my Taylor family seems they lived in TN befor coming to MO. but they probably lived in NC and TN at the same time because of the changes made. But they never moved until to Missouri and where they lived was at the boarder between TN and MO so they lived on both sides of the boarder and sometime.Maybe why it is hard for me to find all of them.I didn't know about the boarder's change until someone told me about it. I live in California and have never been to Missouri ,Tennesee ,or North Carolina. I was born in Oklahoma and left there at the age of 4 so I know very little about Oklahoma .We moved to Virginia and lived for 10 year's of my life then n the 50's we moved to California, and I have been here ever since.Anyway if someone had not told me about ther boarder changes I would never had know.So happy hunting your family Good Luck and Have A Happy Easter Shirley Ann (Taylor) Carter from Riverside California WBillJ@aol.com wrote: > Shirley, You mentioned the boundaries of the counties, and the states too, > moving. > You may already know about it, but last summer, we found a wonderful > small geneology library in Ashville, NC (Buncomb Co.) that has a map > indicating the changes in boundaries. Viv, I found these in the 1880 census, in Ohio. There wasen't any that fit in Kansas, nor was there a Julia Ricketts. Was she born after 1880? I am sending you a bunch of Wms who fit his age. There are more, and I will send you a index, privately, so if you need it later on, and see some you want to have. This first one looks like they may be on the way to 10 children! Dear Margaret Taylor, Do you have a Lucinda Taylor in your family tree in Alabama? My Lucinda Taylor b. 1836 or 1837 or 1838 in Alabama married a John McWhorter in June 1, 1860 in Monroe County, Mississippi. Thanks for any help. Len Sanders
Looking for any information on Lucinda Taylor b. abt 1826 East TN, Washington Co., d. 1897, Madison AL. She m. John Ashly May 1848. She had four children and may have had four brothers or more siblings. Stacy
Folks, I am having a good time looking up 1880 census' for everybody, but you need to start a new subject so I can keep them apart. You can hit reply to say if you thought it was correct or need more, but don't hit reply on someone else's post, please. If you want me to look-up anyone in the 1880 census: 1. Give me any birthdates you have 2. Spouse's name 3. Children's names and b-dates too. There are 50 million Taylors, named the same first name, and born the some year, it seems. Smith could not be any worse! Ha! Thank the Good Lord, if your Taylor had a distinctive first name! Carleen (Who lives in North Louisiana, and is probably going to get knocked off-line by storms today, so if I do not get back to you right away, that may be why. If that Taylor researcher in Tyler, TX would just give it a bump to the north, when it passes him, AK would get it instead. :) We are entering the tornado season here, and we watch the skys! Our greenhouse broke this AM, already, from winds.)
No I am sorry I do not. Thanks for asking, Margaret Ermaud@aol.com wrote: > Dear Margaret Taylor, > > Do you have a Lucinda Taylor in your family tree in Alabama? It's great to see all the activity. One suggestion, which was also made in the welcome note when each of us subscribed to this list -- Put Who? When? Where? in the subject line. I've just worked through at least a dozen message of the last batch that have had no connection between the subject and the message. When this is multiplied over a half-dozen lists, it gets out of hand. If I'm reading messages that don't relate to the subject line, then I've probably tossed info I could have used because the subject line was something like TAYLORS or Digest # 123. Messages like that get tossed unread by more than just me. If you're shorts are in a knot over this request, then gripe at me; the archived list doesn't need it. Bottom line, if you want your message read, make the subject line fit. Linda <http://www.king.igs.net/~bdmlhm/>
Sarah, There is a late, maybe 1890, Territorial census for OK, but none that does much good for us non-Indians. They were not a state until 1907. Carleen

I have been told Gen. Maxwell Taylor was born in Chariton County Mo. Who told me this I do not remember. He is supposed to relate to my Taylors, but no luck yet. Connie
Larry, 1884 is too late for my look-up, unless you think his father was still in Ga. or came to Ala too? Carleen
