Hi, saw you mentioning the surname Anderson. Seeing as how it was in AL & you being in LA, was wondering if you knew any Anderson researcher who could assist me knowing about the following marriage: David "P." Pool = Margaret Anderson 21 March (1819) Wilkerson Co., MS. The problem is that there were two men named David P. Pool living at the same time, not too far from each other. The Mississippi Pool was in Wilkerson Co. and the Louisiana Pool was living in East Feliciana Parish. I contend that this marriage is between the MS Pool & not the LA Pool. So far I haven't had any researcher to comment on the MS Pool, so I'm trying from the Anderson side. Regards, Robert C. Alexander Taylor had a son, William, born in 1831. There are many Taylor's in this area, and all of NJ. Alexander had 11 children, he was one of 11 children, one of his sons had 12 children. Many of these people were named William. Most of them stayed in this area. There are several Henry Taylors also. I believe Alexander's father was William but the chuch and all the records burned down in 1888, and his tombstone is so deteriorated I can't read it. I believe Alexander's mother was Ann. Alexander's daughter, Elizabeth married a Dr. Devinney and when her father died she took in most of the children. Several were mute. (I believe they were just deaf, if you can't hear, you don't talk. Must be hereditary). Does any of this sound familiar? There was also a large family of Taylors in Burlington County and another near Trenton. Sarah I want to thank you for my stroll down memoir lane I lived in Newport News Virginia for 10 years befor coming to California . So I guess you would say I grew up there. My older brother built a home in Jamestown and Me and , my sister and brother younger then me spent many times in the park and at the river cooling off. While we were visting my brother and his family. We visted many place there when we were growing up.I have been here in California since I was 13 years old and have never had the chance to re-visit where I grew up ..I guess I am the only one that never went back.So I know it wouldn't be the same anymore, as every places changes. We lived in Copeland Park in Newport News Virginia.I know it isn't there anymore. My older brother lived in Jamestown and raised 2 boys and 1 daughter there. He expired in 1997 and I couldn't afford to go to the funeral. His daughter and family lives in Patrick Springs Virginia. One of his sons and family lives in Hampton Virginia. Sandy, I'm not sure if this will help. Carleen was able to find my William Henry Taylor in the 1880 census (from Plattin, Jefferson Co., MO). Based on that information, he was born in 1825 in NJ. If you learn any more on Alexander, please let me know. If we don't find any further information, I'll visit the Cincinnati OH library and research the 1930 Census next week.
