I believe the one's who may have lived in Stewart Co to be children of either my grandparents or of their off spring. I am really not sure just which ones may have lived in Stewart Co., it was mentioned as a place to research from another family member alonf with Trigg Co. My gr.gr.grandparents were Pendleton Taylor and -unknown wife-2nd wife Catherine McDaniels--and 3rd wife Martha Griffin. Some of the children of these people may have been there. Thats why I asked for names. I may recognise some of them. Pendleton had 17 children. 1. RE: [TAYLOR] 11 Taylor brothers ---Royalty!
    2. Sharon Dolbee
    3. Carleen, They did a lot of marrying first and second cousins back in those days. I found where one of my families brothers married his oldest brothers daughter and none of the ones doing genealogy knew, except for me. I figured it out when I saw their family tree and then went to library and proved it. Our joke is "But mother would have told me." -----Original Message----- From: CCarnivale@aol.com [mailto:CCarnivale@aol.com] Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 10:02 AM To: TAYLOR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TAYLOR] 11 Taylor brothers ---Royalty! The best thing someone ever said to me about having a royal line, was years ago when I was starting out. We had a "lady," and she was just that, with the proper, old, Southern way of speaking. One day at the library, I said to everyone, "Hey, look at this, I may be royal!" She looked down the table and said, quietly, "Dear, don't wish for a Royal line, they are so inbred." We all fell out of our chairs laughing! It became one of our favorite sayings. NOW, I find I am inbred, for sure, several time over! Jokes on me! But so is the President, Barbara Bush is my 6th cousin. Good company, I think. 1. [TAYLOR] Silas Taylor and Son Simon/Simeon Taylor
    2. Mary Hill
    3. I am searching for information on a Simon/Simeon Taylor the son of Silas Taylor and Elizabeth Wallis. Silas Taylor is the son of Uriah Taylor and Nancy L. Tucker. Simon/Simeon Taylor was born abt. 1843 in GA and died Dec. 8, 1909 in Texas. I am not sure how many times he was married, but know that he was married to Sarah M. Baisdon January 10, 1865 in Lafayette Co. MS, she is the daughter George V. and Penelopy (Taylor) Basidon. Sarah was married prior to Simon and I suspect that Simeon may have been married prior to Sarah, but I don't have any information to prove that. Just mere speculation. Simeon moved to TX from MS, however I am not sure if Sarah died in MS or if she lived long enough to have made the move to TX with Simeon. According to bible records, she died Nov. 4, 1886. I know that Simeon and Sarah had one daughter, Penelopy Taylor who married James Harrison Hardman. Penelopy is listed with her husband in the 1900 Navarro Co. Texas Census. I have suspected that Simeon and Sarah may have had another daughter named Margaret, but cannot prove that either. There was a Margaret Taylor who was married to the brother of Penelopy's husband James. I thought maybe that could be Penelopy's sister. These families were in the Navarro Co. and Corisicana, TX, Wellington, TX areas. If anyone knows anything about the Taylor families, I would love to correspond with you. Best Wishes, Mary hillsters@bwoodtx.com

    3. Thanks so very much Carleen. Try Independence Co AR for 1870 for James & Family... Richard & Family were there in 1870. James & Richard's sisters, were Mary Jane Taylor McDaniel (James Monroe McDaniel) and Eleanor "Ellen" Tayor Autrey (William Thomas Autrey). The Autreys and McDaniels are buried at Weeks, Scott Co AR. Mary Ann Stewart Taylor, wife of Richard, my great grandmother is also buried at Weeks and I cannot find her death date. Thanks for your help. 3. Boy is that true!!! We were told we were kin to Cynthia Ann Parker mother of Quanaha Parker the last comanche chief. We were told she was our so far removed grandmother. We could possibly be unless there is also indian in us LOL. There is not. My husband is suppose to lots of indian in him ---not so far. And my family lore from waaaaay back is that we are kin to Queen bloody Mary (now why would anyone claim that unless it is true LOL) I have not found the proof as of yet. There is a Maitland in our line but so far can't tie it to the Maitlands that surround Mary. The stories that surrounded my maiden name Kornegay were false also. We were told it changed when it came over--so we thought it was scotish and spelled Carnegie. Wrong it came from Germany. And one little 11 year old boy is all that survived in an indian massacre in 1711. I love doing this just wish I had paid more attention in school. 3. Is it possible that this son's name was Bradford?? Man, I hope so!! I have a Bradford, father of Samuel. They came to Indiana in 1850something. They were from KY, and I have been hunting Bradford's parents. There are tons of Taylor boys in southern Indiana after the 1850's, most of them brothers and most of them served in the Civil War.
