Searching Grayson\Hardin\Hart Family of Ben & Pricilla Taylor And please let us know who the right listowner is. I've been on this list for about 3 years now..and never heard of you or from you Mr. Hansen. Bryan has announced himself time after time as owner...without any replies or rebuttals from you. I don't recall anything you've ever posted. I don't mean to say you've not been a part of this list...but there was never any rebuttals before from you on Bryan being the owner. Ya'll need to get this worked out with Roots Web. I don't say this to start a fight...as the owner of a Taylor Web Site I took over for a cousin...there was a conflict in my cousin's email address vs the owner of another site...it was quite a mess for over a week. Love ~Carol
Is Jim Kuethe still a member of this list? rjgpneveaux@worldnet.att.net
Dear Carol & Others: There is a process that Rootsweb goes through on determining who the rightful List Admin is for any mailing list. They determined sometime that this list was not being admined correctly. I don't know what that basis was. I was then appointed by the Rootsweb Listmaster to being List Admin for the Taylor list. You will see some posts from me in the archives etc where there were some announcements and guidelines established. I've offered the list back to Bryan if he is willing to dedicate the time involved. I'm willing to serve as co-admin if he so desires. If that happens ( and Bryan wants to) then we will still need to persuade the Rootsweb staff that this transfer back to him is acceptable. I don't expect any problems in that aspect. Please be assured that there is no conflict or disagreement between Bryan and myself. Bryan merely needs to make his decision and committment. Dear Wanda; Well....... I don't know.. but here is a message from the archives dated 1990 ( almost 12 years). There is an earlier one but I'm not sure of it's validity. By mid 1996 the messages were ranging from about a 100/month up to 250/month. I was not questioning the fact that Bryan was list admin for a period. I was only stating that the list had been in existance prior to him. Best Regards John A Hansen List Admin "From: "Joseph F. Stegall" <joesteg@westal.net> Subject: [TAYLOR-L] JOHN M. Betty, My Taylor was born in 1832 in Stewart County, TN. Cathy Psalms 108:1-4 "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody! Awake, O my soul! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! I will give thanks to the thee, O Lord, among the peoples, I will sing praises to thee among the nations. For they steadfast love is great above the heavens, thy faithfulness reaches to the clouds."(RSV)
Hello Rooters: I desperately need further information concerning my great uncle, George Gilbert Taylor. He was b. Aug. 10,1842 in Holden, Worcester Co.,Mass. to Joseph and Persis Taylor. I can find no information between the time he was discharged from the Civil War and the time he entered the Soldier's Home in Bristol, Bristol Co.,RI. I would like to find out if he married and if he had children. His pension papers simply say he lived in several places including Boston, and he wanted to go west. West could mean west as far as the Connecticut River ! His record from Soldier's Home states his next of kin was his nephew, named for George's father, Joseph. This can mean he never married or his wife and/or children were dead. (George died in 1915). Any help or suggestions will be appreciated ! Martha, This study could/must contain mistakes. I think like all transcriptions, when they encode, is that the word, they ofter miss type. I know on one list a fellow said a man listed as "black" was actually a white man, and the murder and hanging was a well known fact in his State. So tread lightly with these indexes. WE all miss type years ALL the time. Its a good thing my FTM reminds me when I have a child born before the Mother! Carleen

Thanks, Carleen, I found it - already had that information (just misstated it). I knew that he was hung in 1833 for muder in Tennessee. Was interested in names of his parents. Do you have this information? Martha
