Both were prominent Quaker ministers in England and upon their arrival in the Philadelphia area. These Taylor's do not appear to have strayed vary far from Bucks County and Tinicum Island areas of Philadelphia. I have no trace on Christopher's children; Israel, Mary and Joseph. 2. Betty, I know from my research that a Charlotte Taylor was a widow of John Taylor, they had 2 sons, one of which was named Thomas but when I dug deeper I found the middle intial to be different. Anyway she remarried in Stewart but they moved to Trigg with her sons. Also while searching the court records she was given guardianship to several children. I need to do further research on this but haven't so far. She may have had nieces and nephews that were turned over to her for one reason or another. I can look for this husbands name if you would like. Also, the only Taylor who had children on the 1840 census that fit my time frame and ages for Stewart county was a man named Armsted Taylor. Is this man in your family? Cathy Psalms 108:1-4 "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody! Awake, O my soul! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! I will give thanks to the thee, O Lord, among the peoples, I will sing praises to thee among the nations. For they steadfast love is great above the heavens, thy faithfulness reaches to the clouds."(RSV)

I have never found a military record either and I have looked hard. My best leads have been in some Taylors who immigrated from England to St. Mary's Co MD. Henry and George moved over to Loudon, then WT shows up owning land on the southern border, at Middleburg VA. That seems to be where he stayed, part of the record has him doing things in Faquier Co Va which borders that area of Loudon. There are a lot of Taylors there in St Mary's all interconnected . Also some Tarltons. More About WILLIAM TARLTON TAYLOR: Burial: Loudon County, Virginia Notes for ELIZABETH HAMPTON: 12 December 1843 filed Widows Pension, Wayne County, Kentucky. 2. Mary & Kenny Vanderheydt
    3. Mary, you are right, it is not a good idea to split the list, it would be an injustice to the new researchers. Even though some of us have been doing this for years, we still have our brick walls, and have to check every lead. I have been researching for a lot of years, and I have never heard of splitting a surname, according to location, people moved around in the early days, always looking for something better for their families. It is probably the rather recent researchers who want to do this, and do not realize this will be like waking the sleeping giant. Mary

    3. Hello Taylor cousins, I haven't found my Taylor line yet but when they migrated to Nebraska they came with the Keith family, the Harris, Norris, Randolph, Smith, Davenport and Harrison families. They all must have first moved from the Colonies to Ohio then to Wisconsin before coming to Nebraska. Thanks for any feed back. 3. I was at FTM's Genealogy Library and there was a Wesley Taylor born to a Samuel Taylor and Hannah Harrison ancestor. I think his father was Thomas Taylor, son of Richard Taylor. This was at "History of the Taylor Family". pg. 107. Thomas had five sons---Nicholas, Wesley, Harrison D., Milton and Thomas---and a daughter Frances, all of whom are dead, save Harrison D. and Milton. (Written in 1925.) Mentioned were Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Grayson, and Breckenridge counties. Does this fit your Wesley Taylor? Good luck in your search. ((I am always looking for a connection to my Thomas Taylor (1728-1797) in Loudoun Co., VA.))
