Bathsheba DEAN (b. 1722, Lebanon, New London, CT.), was the daughter of Passing along info on Lemuel TAYLOR which I received in a message about Peck's. I have no additional info. Pat Peck Josiah and Mary (Bethia) (PECK) DEAN, who were both born in MA. They apparently moved to Lebanon, CT. between 1715 and the date of Bathsheba's birth in 1722. Perhaps Dean Mtn. Road and the Dean families you find on the old maps were named after her father or brothers. Unfortunately, I have no further information on them, except to say that they were probably quite religious people, as Bathsheba married into a religious family - the TAYLORS. Bathsheba married 1 Dec. 1746, Lemuel TAYLOR, in Lebanon, CT. Lemuel was born in 1725 in Falmouth, MA., but baptised 10 July 1737, in Lebanon, CT. In 1752, Lemuel TAYLOR's name appears in Congregational Church Records at Canaan, CT., where he signed the Covenant 10 July 1760. Later he moved his family to Stillwater and Half Moon, NY., where he resumed his active church membership, and spent the rest of his life. During the Revolutionary War years, his wife's name disappears from church records; presumably she died during this time. His will was probated 12 Dec. 1799 at Saratoga Springs, NY.
This is NOT my family, I just get up-dates from a reseacher of Montgomery Co ALABAMA newspapers. Thought this might help someone. Carleen MONTGOMERY ADVERTISER AND STATE GAZETTE January 23, 1856 Mr. Samuel TAYLOR and wife, of Twiggs County, Georgia, were recently brutally murdered by some person or persons unknown. They were over 70 years of age…
Hi List, Thanks for the information you sent. I do have the forms to order and can order and be billed later, but that would delay any information available--so I plan to charge it! The full Pension file is $37 and the Pension Document Packet is $14.75. A pension claim was brought before Congress for my ancestor and was referred to the Committee on Pensions. Since I don't know what happened I feel I should order the full file. Thanks again! Joan Garvey

Yes, even if the application was not approved they will have the record. I have copies of some that have "rejected" on them. One is RW, and one is War of 1812. Carleen
Hi List, This is not specifically regarding Taylor but I hope one of you can answer my question and perhaps it will help others too. I want to request a pension application from the Rev. War. period. Before I send $37.00 to the National Archives along with their Form 85, I wonder if anyone knows if they keep applications that were rejected? I believe an application was made because it was noted in the Congressional Record but from what I can tell, it was not approved. Thanks for any help. Joan Garvey

Dear All, Just a quick posting regarding this new family surname I have just discovered. On the birth certificate of my Grt Grandfather (Henry James MILLS- dob 27 Sept 1884) his mother is listed as Elizabeth MILLS( nee TAYLOR ) - hence my interest. I know little else at this stage other than she lived with her husband, James MILLS, at Atcombe Road, Woodchester, Gloucestershire, England in 1884. Is anyone researching the TAYLOR name in Gloucestershire, England - I would like to hear from you - especially if it's from the Woodchester/Stroud area and you have Elizabeths !!?? Many Thanks Mark Kirby mark.kirbys@btinternet.com
