Hello Taylors, Still trying to find a spot for Thomas and Caleb Pierpoint Taylor. Did he have another name? No parents yet for Thomas (1728-1735) died (about July 20, 1797). Here is my link to Henry Carter and his wife Frances Penn. They had two daughters. One was Elizabeth "Betsy" Carter and she married ?? Pulliam. The other daughter was Polly Carter and she married Peter Threlkeld son of Captain Elijah Threlkeld. Peter born about 1788 in Of, King George County, Virginia and he died between 1835 - 1840 in Barren Co., Kentucky?. I have found Polly's grave in Butler County, Kentucky also Peter and Polly's son John "Jackie" Threlkel but not Peter's. Peter and Polly Threlkeld named their first born Carter Threlkeld, brother of my John "Jackie" Threlkel. They then connect back to my Taylor ancestors through Frances Penn's mother and father Joseph Penn and Mary Taylor born May 30th, 1718 daughter of John Taylor and Catherine Pendleton. All signs lead me to this Taylor line, but still no place to fit my Thomas Taylor who married Caleb Pierpoint. They do connect to Zachary Taylor and Elizabeth Lee's son Zechariah (Zachary) Taylor who married Alice Chew. Alice Chew's parents were Colonel Thomas Chew Sr. and Martha Thompson Taylor. Martha was a daughter of James Walker Taylor and Martha Thompson Taylor. My Caleb Pierpoint who married my Thomas Taylor is the daughter of Charles Pierpoint and Sidney Chew. Martha Sidney Wynne b. 1675 and William Chew Sr. born 1669 is my Caleb's grandparents. When my Thomas Taylor died about July 21, 1797 George Washington was still in office. The Carters and the Washingtons were personal friends as were the Taylors. The ancestors to these people include the surnames of Gassaway, Constable, Ayres, Smith, Coale going back to John Chew the emigrant born July 16, 1587 in Whaley Parish, Lancaster, England and died August 24, 1668 and his wife Rachel Constable. Here is the documentation on the Carter/Penn connection. Hi All, Today, I found a GGGG Aunt(most likely) of mine, Sarah/Sally WOOD who wed James TAYLOR in Orange County, Va, abt 1800. I tried an email address which was posted at the end of the Post. Thanks, Mary My URL: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/ci-bin/igm.vgi?db=marykl P.S. I am still looking for Thomas Taylor's father. Thomas Taylor b. 1728-1735 in Fredrick Co., Maryland & d. 1797 in Waterford, Va. He married Caleb Pierpoint d/o Charles and Sidney Chew Pierpoint on February 28, 1749/50 in Elk Ridge Mh, [Indian Springs], Maryland. <><><><><>>>><>><>>>><><><><><> 123 Prince St. Alexandria, Virginia June 20th, 1928 Mr Henry Taylor, My dear Uncle Henry. I hope you are the uncle or great uncle of my dead husband though he has been dead (12 or 2) years. I was up to Leesburg last Feb and some of our people were reading a notice in the Leesburg Mirror of a Uncle Henry Taylor who was born in Leesburg 104 years ago. We perhaps thought you may be our own. Uncle of Robert Lewis French's wife, Josephine Taylor. Her father's name was, I think was William Taylor. She is my husband's mother. I am (I cannot read this but looks like L. Gheen), married her son Daniel Webster (French) in 1898 Sept. 1st. I have two great sons and two daughters all living but their father died on the Old Gov. Swan's Estate, now called Morvan Park owned by Westmoreland Davis who was our own state gov. for one 4 years. My husband worked on his farm and dairy nearly six years. Ma French had brothers named of Philip, William, George and Webster (Taylor) maybe others. She now has one son and two dau. living in or near Leesburg. Mrs. Thos Bell, Mrs. Frank Atwell and Geo W. Taylor. I came here to Alexandria 9 years ago. My father (who? I don't know. mkl) had two sisters here and right now I have him here living with me as he will be 85 on 22 Feb of next & has been an invalid for the past 4 yrs.,(can't decipher) but the lst of Jul I will let him go back to Leesburg in the hospital where they can handle him much better than I. Ma French died one year after my husband ( can't decipher). Pa French died five or 6 yrs before either. He was 74 and Ma was 79. My husband was only 41. He had been in bad health. Uncle William (Taylor) died about two years before either. He was living at Falls Church- left widow and two sons. Aunt Annie may still be living. Uncle George (Taylor) and Aunt (Looks like Texama mkl) Taylor died before Ma French died. This item says you are 104 years old and are still hale and hearty I would just like to meet you just one time to know that you are Josephine Taylor French's Uncle Henry. I am her daughter-in-law writing to you. (can't decipher) but not through writing that you are (can't decipher) Some other nieces up at Leesburg were going to write to you and see if you might make us a nice long visit. I will close now not wanting to tire you out reading this and that you may not be our uncle after all. But hope you are our Uncle Henry Taylor. Wilbur Hall in Leesburg thinks you are.the one and the same. You have my best wishes always, With love I will close and write to me Is there any way for me to obtain one of your life history? I would love to get one. You and family have my best wishes & hope you will be well and happy for years to come. Bye, Bye, Uncle Henry may God bless & comfort you in your last happy days. I am a Baptist head and toe. I hope you are also! <><><><><>>>><>><>>>><><><><><>
I'm looking for a Keith Taylor who received a Battlefield Commission during WW II in Italy - in the 45th, I think - and who became an actor in New York City after the war. His first wife was Annie Blackburn, and they had a daughter born around the late 1940s. Later he became a radio commentator and theatre critic in upstate New York. I believe he was born in the Midwest, possibly Iowa. I'd appreciate any word SKS might have. Robert S. Telford, Long Beach, CA
