Fannie Taylor as an orphan girl crossed the Texas prairie in a covered wagon with another family. She married John Haggardy. John Haggardy and his brother Con came from Ireland. Fannie and John had two children: Andrew Jackson Haggardy an Margaret "Maggie" Corinthy Haggardy. Andrew never married. Maggie was born July 4, 1888 in Coryell County Texas. I am trying a new posting. Family talk says that my Taylors in America started in New York. That they were some of the original land owners. (none of this can I prove or disprove). At some point they decided to head south to find a "better place" to raise their family. The first name I have is Benjamin F. Taylor b. ca 1805 in Virginia. In 1830 Benjamin is found in Jasper County, Ga getting married to Lovey Jeffries. 1840 He is still in Jasper County, but in 1850 he is found in the Pike County, Ga Census at age 45 and his wife Lovey is listed at 39. The census sisted the children as Paschal age 18, Francis age 17, Elizabeth age 15, Thomas D. age 13, Charles D. age 10, Catharine C. age 8, Malissa age 6, and Amanda T. age 3. He is again in Pike county Census for 1860. He is listed age 54 and wife, Lovey age 50 with these children: Catharine C. age 17, Malissa age 15, Amanda age 13, John C. age 9, and Martha age 7. 1870 Randolph County, Ga Census shows: Benjamin age 65 Lovy age 56 Catharine 26 Martha 17 and living next door was my G Grandfather and Benjamins son, John Taylor age 18 and wife Ardella age 18.
