    1. Re: [TAYLOR] WM. TAYLOR, SR. OF LAURENS COUNTY, SC
    2. I am looking for Reuben Taylor born in SC in the Old Ninety Six District. His wife was named Mary __________ He was born in 1796. Julia Terena Taylor was my great grandmother and she lived in Pike County AR and died there. She is buried at Kirby Primitive Baptist Church cemetary. I would like to know about Reuben--could he have been in the family you are mentioning? I hope so. I would so appreciate any kind of lead. Sorry to butt in on your query but I have to take every chance I can get . Jan

To list members who are subbed in D - digest mode: Because of the amount of message traffic and the length of the messages, I have changed the settings so you will receive messages from the TAYLOR list twice a day now - every 12 hours, instead of every 18. 3. I am searching for family of ROBERT TAYLOR who emigrated from Scotland about 1800 with two brothers. They were iron workers and settled in Lebanon County, PEnnsylvania. Robert married Nancy Martin and they had five Children: Martha(m. ? Kline), John(m. Sophia WEAVER),Anna(m. Samuel PATTON), Mary[Polly](m. John BOYER), Maria (m. Abraham BOYER). ROBERT died in 1822 of Typhoid and wife and children worked as apprentices, etc until adulthood. Robert's brothers went west about this time and the family lost track of them. Any info on any member of this family will be appreciated, and I love to share. Polly and John BOYER are my direct descendents.

    1. [TAYLOR] RE: TAYLOR / DONALD & TAYLOR / FLETCHER & TAYLOR / PETRIE
    2. Brial
    3. Hi! I am new to your list and wish to list members of my Taylor family that I am researching. My g-grandfather was Peter Fletcher TAYLOR (born 1861 Wick, Caithness) - the son of Peter TAYLOR and Ann FLETCHER. He married Helen DONALD in 1885 in Aberdeen. All of Peter and Helen's children were born in Australia. My gg-grandparents were Peter TAYLOR and Ann FLETCHER who married in 1857 at Wick, Caithness. They had children - Margaret (born 1858 Wick); Peter Fletcher (born 1861 Wick); and Ann (born 1862 Aberdeen). My gg-grandfather was born about 1835 in Aberdeen - the son of Peter TAYLOR and Catherine PETRIE (married 1817). At this stage I have not been able to locate any other siblings - but I am sure that he would surely have had some considering the time between when his parents married and he was born. I know nothing of my ggg-grandfather Peter TAYLOR (married 1817) other than this snippet of information. I recently applied for the baptism of my gggrandfather (Helen DONALD's father) and received a page from `Baptisms for the Dead in St George Temple'. There were many Taylors `baptised' on this day - many TAYLOR; JACKSON (I have not come across this name in our research todate); and DONALD family members - all baptised by proxy in the name of Thomas Forsyth. I have not come across this name either in my research. All entries were for male relatives - as I was told that only a male could stand in for a male etc. Some of the Taylor's on this `baptism' record were listed as from `Of Glasgow'; Campbelltown; Paisley; Largs; Perth; Old Monkland; Kinghorn and St Nicholas Aberdeen. From this information I would assume that my Taylor family were originally from the West Coast of Scotland. However all my information todate indicates they were on the East Coast. On the 1881 Census Peter and Ann, and two of their children Peter and Ann were living in Barony, Lanark at the time. If anyone is researching this family or can offer suggestions on where to continue my research next it would be most appreciated. Kate Brial (nee Taylor) - Australia

    3. That would be worth your while to check out, I was not trying to minimize your work, but since so much time is needed and dedicated to your research, I wanted you to know that there is no research involved in Mary Brewer's book. She just never had the time to sort through all the information that was submitted to her. Therefore, a lot of the information was from different people, and it was printed in her book You are not the first or only one, who has used her book, that is why they put out the information on it. I will try to find the email, and if you like will send you a copy. Mary

    1. [TAYLOR] Matthew S. TAYLOR
    2. Hi All, I need your help to determine the parents of my g-g-g-g-grandfather, Matthew S. Taylor. Most Taylors who research this family assume that Matthew S. is the son of Capt. Henry (Eight finger) Taylor, as Capt. Henry is a Revolutionary War soldier and the most noted of this branch of Taylors. However, I am not sure. As Matthew's middle initial is S., I feel strongly that his parents are Matthew Taylor and Sarah Sample, but I do not have any proof. Both Capt. Henry and his brother Matthew had sons named Matthew. So, I am looking for any information about the family of Matthew Taylor, b. abt. 1739 in PA, and Sarah Sample, b. abt. 1755. This Matthew is assumed to be the son of Robert Taylor, Sr., b. abt. 1720 and Jean Patterson, b. abt. 1720, m. abt. 1733 Swatara Creek, PA. Robert's children: (1) Henry, b. abt. 1733; (2) Catharine, b. abt. 1734, m. John Sterling; (3) William, b. abt. 1735, m. Ester; (4) Robert, Jr., b. abt. 1736; (5) John McCanless, b. abt. 1737, m. Elizabeth Campbell; (6) Jane, b. abt. 1738; (7) Matthew, b. abt. 1739, m. Sarah Sample; (8) Elizabeth, b. abt. 1740, m. William Hueston; (9) Ann, b. abt. 1741. Below is a descendant chart for Matthew S. Taylor. Any questions, comments, corrections, or additions about this family will be greatly appreciated. Lana Taylor Corpus Christi, TX 1 Matthew S(ample?)
